I apologize if this is a double post, but I got to get this out. I think the new Xbox interface has some serious problems.
First off, I would like to state that the new in-game blade thing is great. That is a improvement. Another good thing is the party feature. Now i can chat with multiple people.
But as for the main xbox interface, i think it sucks.
The avatar thing is so retarded and a rip off of the wii. It's not cool and no-one likes it. I see it as a ploy to get more money out of retards who actually will buy the costumes and extra customization crap.
My second complaint is the organization. Way to complicated. The old interface seemed cleaner and easier to navigate. Once again, I feel Microsoft is shoving promotions and adverts down my throught.
The third complaint is the media features. When i plug in my hard drive with all my media on it, I have to search for pics, vids and music all individually. I want just to brows the hard-drive and select files as I see them. If you don't know what i mean, go look at the media section and notice how there is 3 sections (Browse Pictures, Browse Videos, and Browse music). I really want to use my xbox as a media center, but it's really hard with the complicated interface.
Other then those complains, i thinkhe new interface is cool, but a few parts of it really annoy me. I still say the original blade interface is better (Just because it was more organized). It looks like Microsoft is trying to rip off the Wii and the PS3 too much. Typical Microsoft.

I find that most people are actually enjoying the avatars, furthermore on this weeks major nelson podcast they had the guy in charge of xbox live and he said their would be FREE clothes every two weeks for at least 6 months. M$ isnt making money off of it, its yoru choice though if you want to even make one, no one forces you to do it.
I find the organzation to be much better. Everything seems like its in its logical place and I think a side effect of this is it loading faster.
As for the browsing of media, while I understand your point I believe it to be much easier this way. I'm sure it also helps load data quicker. In *most* cases the majority of people are only looking for pictures, or videos or music, not all of them at the same time. Having them seperated allows the system to load it quicker and gives you less things to look at so you can get to what you actually want.
Multiple disk trays = unnecessary idea
Ability to redownload / transfer all downloaded content from 360 > next xbox = necessarykamikaze_pigmy
I completely agree. Really guys, people are claim that gamers are fat and lazy, give them another reason to say all you do is sit on the couch all day long. Is it really that bad to get up for 5 seconds to change the disk?
I guarantee if this happened it would be like that episode of southpark when cartman was playing WOW and wouldnt even move to eat or go to the bathroom.
