@furrynic @Joutja Well, for starters, I can't have a point and then it be pointless. Also, I was talking about the way people we going on about how gamespot is the devil for giving lower scores than what they (the player) think the game should be rated. I wasn't specifically talking about Gears, I was talking in general.
Finally, you might want to think about what you said. You said that the game was a low score at around 7.5-8.5 (which isn't low, low is 2 etc.) Then you say it got 9.2 then say it was an average game. Which is it?
I think some people forget that the rating gamespot give a game is obviously their opinion. You could get 100 different people to rate the game and all of them could look at it critically and still give it different scores. It depends on how much of impact certain things have on a game. The score gamespot give is their opinion. That's why they give 3 different sets of scores on a game from gamespot, users and metacritic to give a better view of the score.
No-one says that because they give the game a lower score than 8.5/9 means that they think the game is crap. How many games (and for that matter, how many movies) are given low marks by critics yet loads of people still love them and think they're great. Opinions, nothing more, nothing less. People need to get less worked up by other people's opinions.
I liked the first game and the book. Shame they haven't translated Metro 2034 into English yet. Looking forward to this game. It would be good to have more elements in customising your gear and have a bit more freedom to move around.
@tweezzzy @Icy_the_penguin @Joutja Not a problem. No, I hate dumbed down games. I like games that require half a brain to get through rather than a single cell like Call of Duty. While I sometimes don't mind CoD for the odd shoot everything for no reason, I play games for the stories, so usually RPG's.
Aye, it should be possible to complete the game would killing someone. As the guy said, Garret is a thief not an assassin/fighter like Corvo. However, I would like to see some places/game modes where you could kill people/undead. I prefer to have the choice but they should keep it just as punishing as it was in the first game for getting caught. Those guards packed a punch... or a sword to the gut.
