I was having similar problems.. just couldn't connect via the adapter, so I ended up returning it.
Now I just use my Macbook - I share the ethernet connection and it gets its signal wirelessly!

Unless you want to hack the game using the toolkit and homebrew (not suggesting it really) just have patience.. it'll just take a while to be able to afford ONE thing in there, but it'll come in time.
Plant a lot of fruit trees, fish a lot, sell identified fossils..
I must have been under the rock for the 29.99 sale! Wtf
Well I'm hoping, too, that it'll be on sale again. I'd say the best bet will be Amazon. They have all kinds of games/gadget deals - esp with how close to Christmas it's getting.
1. Download some awesome VC games like Zombies Ate My Neighbors
2. Go searching for some awesome Wii game deals- buy cheap games and play them
3. Finish RE4 (it's sad that I haven't yet hehe)
4. Do nothing! Laze around and play Animal Crossing or something :D
Fact: Sure, the Wii games don't look "pee your pants good" like the 360 and ps3 games.
But you know what... it's a give and take. I'd be willing to play a game on the wii that's cell shaded or maybe has good graphics (Twilight Princess) but not quite the realistic quality a lot of people are hoping for nowadays. The Wii gives me warm fuzzies because of the physical aspect, even though it can give me willies (Silent Hill or Resident Evil).
The system has a few goodies, to be sure.
But just from this entire thread I kind of get a feeling:
The reason that Nintendo isn't too concerned with pushing high quality graphics on the Wii is because their major target market just simply doesn't demand it. The fanboys and normal Wii fans may not care as much about that, so why feel pressured to pump out "sh*t that's real!" graphics?
Also, I think with the competition that was out there at the time it just didn't win over anyone. The form factor was weird and clunky. As stupid as it sounds - I think the small, square shape was to dissimilar from the other consoles - people weren't sure how to handle it. It was ahead of it's time in the regard, I think. :)
And, as pointed out previously, it just seemed childish. True SSBM and Zelda WW were great games (among others) but even those seem a little immature.
