Looks nice, but personally I never been a fan of Nascar. Not to say it's bad or anything or the sort just isn't my thing.

It's not for everybody! Ever been to a race?

[QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"] The 2nd most popular sport in America? Ooooo yeah!SpideR_CentS

WHAT?!?!? Nascar is behind MLB, NBA, College Football for sure. Its probally behind College BBall & NHL also.

As far as this game goes I don't like driving in a big circle almost every race.

Edit: I assumed you were saying NFL 1, Nascar 2. That is just flat out wrong though.

Oh really well here's proof. I'll quote it for you....

Nascar's ability to mobilize massive numbers of fans is its greatest strength, and why reports of Nascar's demise are greatly exaggerated. Nascar, by many measures, is still the second-most-popular sport in the U.S. (behind football). It counts 30 million people as avid fans. The average broadcast rating of 3.6 in 2010 was topped only by the NFL. Attendance may be down, but 100,000 people still show up to see each race. Those around the sport are cautiously optimistic that attendance and TV ratings will rebound this year. Early indications are good: Ratings for this year's Daytona 500 were up 13% over last year.Forbes

I don't think this game will beat Shift 2 Unleashed

killeracer0210
I never said it would, nor did I say it would beat GT5 or Forza 3, BUT I think NASCAR 2011 deserves a bit more attention for the damage model it has, the 43 car fields, the paint scheme editor, and for portraying races in a much more realistic manner than most other games (NASCAR 2011 actually has cautions and people talking to you over the radio which happens in real life, something Forza and GT don't include at all).

I'm not sure I like the damage. It's extensive but the sheetmetal doesn't really disintegrate like that. Looks kindof silly.

I love how everything I see though it looks like these guys have put alot of passion into the game. Much better than EA, I hope the physics are good. They look abit to arcadey for my taste, but it's hard to feel it out through youtube videos. I want a punishing nascar game.

I also really like that atmosphere of the tracks,

Too bad Nascar has this cloud of hate over it. I don't get it.

Peiner09
I was watching a video of them racing at Bristol and the guy got hit in the right side of the bumper and it just bent the sheet metal, it didn't tear so I reckon the sheet metal won't really tear unless you have a bad crash. At least I hope that's how it will go.

lol i thought this was a joke. nascar can never be better than any other type of racing.

iliatay
Oh really? And why is that? It's easily the most popular form of motorsports here in America and I'm pretty sure the only other form of racing that competes with NASCAR is Formula 1. IRL, NHRA, WoO, etc. aren't even close in terms of popularity.

[QUOTE="Jrfanfreak88"][QUOTE="masiisam"]

Montoya.....Yea.... you also know he couldn't get a ride in F1 after his shotty team persona and outside of a few solid years did nothing in F1. He had no other outlet for motorsport. No one wanted him for rally. NASCAR was the only thing left. He ended up in NASCAR only because he burned everything else out there. NASCAR was the only thing left.

What does that tell you about his opinion about NASCAR when he was in the game?

In any event..Whats that guy doing now? Nothing... has he won anything?..nope..whats his standing?..Yea..the guy has been a burn out for years ..So how is that guy the staple of opinion onF1?

If you don't like F1 then it would appear you wouldn't like WRC as there is no passing and no lead changes throughout the entire event. Does that make it boring? Maybe to you but the rest of the world EURO/ASIA would disagree.

masiisam

Lol whatever. If I hated F1 so much do you think I would have bought F1 2010 like I did? I also had Dirt 2 for the longest time. I love all forms of motorsports but in my OPINION NASCAR is the most exciting of them all to watch. F1's cars are amazing but the racing is bland and boring if you ask me. WRC drivers have bigger balls than just about anyone on the planet, driving a car at those speeds on mountains with huge cliffs on either side is just insane. Unfortunately here in the states there really isn't any good rally shows like their used to be on speedvision. From a driving perspective though rally racing is a lot of fun but I just enjoy driving against other drivers more than I do just driving against the track.

lol whatever? Really..?

It's just a discussion. Opinions can differ.. that's what makes it a discussion. I was pointing out your "case example" is a tool. He didn't choose NASCAR as his first choice,he ended up there when he couldn't get anything else. That's all.

I never said you hated F1 and how amI going to know if you bought F1 2010 or D2. I adddresed what you said..nothing more.

I say whatever because you act as if Montoya is some worthless no name F1 driver like Scott Speed was, when he's won quite a few races. He won 10 CART races and the championship in his rookie year, then he won the Indy 500 by leading 167 of 200 laps, then he wins 7 times in F1 including Monaco and Monza and doesn't finish lower than 6th in his 5 F1 seasons, and he's won at both NASCAR sprint cup road courses and at the road course in Mexico in the Nationwide race. He's got a driving resume that is a lot more impressive than most people in motorsports so when he says...

"Formula 1 drivers are convinced that they're so much better than anyone else," Montoya told The Times. "When I was in F1, every week I was on the podium. It was cool, but is it satisfying? It wasn't, because it was the most boring races. The guy who started in front of you would drive away from you, and the guy who was behind you would drop away from you, unless you [had] f***ed up in qualifying – and then you needed to have a different pit-stop strategy to beat them.

"It's boring. It's a shame, because the technology these cars have and the amount of companies that are involved is unreal. I don't know how big companies do it for such a long time without results. It's harder here," argued the Bogota native, currently sitting 19th in the championship chase out of some 67 fierce competitors. "When you run 15th, sometimes you think it sucks, but look at the big picture – 15th here is like sixth or seventh in F1, because there are twice as many cars.

"The incredible thing is here I run 15th or 20th on average, and there are four or five weeks in the year where I have a chance of winning. In F1 if you run sixth or seventh, you run sixth or seventh the whole year.It doesn't matter if you're running for the lead, or for 30th, you're always racing somebody [in NASCAR]. That's much better."

Even Dario Franchitti, last year's IRL champion, had this to say about NASCAR...

""It's been a tough baptism," reflected the Scot. "I thought it would be difficult, but I didn't realise how difficult. The good thing is I feel I know a lot more now about what to do.For anybody that loves cars, it's entertainment that's second-to-none. If you want exciting racing, to watch people driving cars that are very difficult to drive, this is the answer.""

Also, if you said I never hated F1 then why did you say this:

"If you don't like F1 then it would appear you wouldn't like WRC as there is no passing and no lead changes throughout the entire event."

You saying I don't like it makes me think you believe I hate it, which is false.

Wow what's up with all the NASCAR hate, honestly. I don't find it that entertaining but it can be pretty fun and a different experience from the usual road races. I still go with road racing but constantly bashing NASCAR seems a bit silly.

Also the damage modelling seems pretty good.

Dark4ever01

Yeah im surprised more people haven't been talking about the damage model ya know?
