[QUOTE="MetallicaKings"][QUOTE="Marfoo"]yes, we can say thats true. but there is no evidence at all that they are "inaccurate representations...etc". There is just as much evidence that we live in the matrix and robots are harvesting our bodies There is one scientific theory that says the universe is just a holographic projection of something or another. Like I said, it's the thought that our senses could be presenting us a reality that is representative but drastically different from the physical world. It's the thought that counts. To think that color and sound are products of the mind is mind boggling on its own. (those two are pretty much undisputed) How can sound be a product of the mind? If im at the beach, and im looking away from the water, how does my brain know to regester the sound of the waves, if the waves weren't making sound?, and the universe is just aholographic projection of something or another? So this book on my desk is just a holographic projection of something my brain wants to see?, and when my hands go to touch this "projection", I also somehow manage to make it manafest into physical form where I can hold it? Damn, if I can do all of this why can't I fly, or shoot fireballs out my a$$? This **** is getting pretty out-there.to mudd (sorry the quote thing wasn't working)
I was saying that the way our brain manifests it's surroundings may be a totally inaccurate way of how it physically exists. That being said that doesn't mean our senses aren't useful, it's just mind boggling to think everything could exist in a really abstract manner from how we interpret it. Our senses are the best interpretation we have of the world and is very useful to us as is. Lol, why are you making points to me? Maybe I misworded when I said "Things such as color and sound do not really exist...", I should've said "The senses may be inaccurate representations of the physical existence of objects" That being said we sense them in such a way so we can categorize them, decide which are useful, and have them presented to us in a meaningful manner, that's the beauty of the brain.Marfoo
For people who are just casting this away, this video provides real scientific thinking and evidence that is widely accepted today. It's basically an indepth look at the senses and how they work to interpret our world. How sight is just something created in the brain by detecting EMR in the visible spectrum, sound just the change of pressure and vibrations in the air... etc. Basically the video is trying to enlighten you on how much extra detail your mind adds to the world. Things such as color and sound do not really exist, they are just manifestations of the brain to classify different inputs of the senses. It basically says matter and exitence in actuallity is much different then what you see, hear, or feel. That being said, our senses help as make sense of the world regardless, although fundamentally, things to do exist as we sense them.MarfooI wish my brain could do the samething that it does for the world, for my girlfriend....
In my expieriance its always the de-eveolution of my favorite band. Anytime that classic bad-ass album is released, and you can't wait for the follow up, when they finally release it, its garbage. Take 10 years for example. Their last album the Autumn Effect was great, but their follow up albumsucked donkey balls.
[QUOTE="JunkyMcMuffin"]If there is any type of God/Gods, I know its far beyond our comprehension or anything that is wrote down in human language. The stuff you read about is all made up by retards from back in the day, that didn't know any better way to write about things they didn't understand.Blubadox
Nothing has changed much, all those retards are now replaced by scientifc retards who believe there are super advanced beings living on other planets...aka Aliens.
The idea of a god/gods or god like entities in space and time or whatever. Is something that is a little to out there for any reasanable debate. However, judging by the size of the multiple universes out there. Its very possible that somewhere out there, an earth-like planet existed before ours did, and in that case, life developed on it just like it does on this one, and if their planat was before ours, than it would be only natural that it would be more "advanced". I don't find these theories to be retarded, because one day they might actually be able to be proved true or false. Unlike the idea of Gods. Unless Jesus walks the earth again like the bible says...but, I doubt it. But to be safe, we cool, right Jesus?Yea, Cowboy Bebop is the best IMO also. Some other sci-fi animes that are good are Appleseed, and the Gundam Series that had Domon Kasshu as the star was very good. I think it was Mobile Suit G Gundum. It was very intence and dramatic. His Gundumcould transformed kinda like a super sayin.(meaning it glowed gold, got bigger, and became drastically more powerfull). One of my favorite sci-fi anime/cartoon movies is Titan A.E., its about a human in space trying to recover some kind of alien tech that can rebuild a "New Earth". Seings how humans are on the brink of extinction, and earth is dead. Its very good, check it out.
There is no such thing as youtube on my computer. I am running a 28k dial-up connection. I live way the hell out in the country, where high speed internet is something out of science-fiction. Sattalite Internet, Mobile Wireless Card internet, and dial-up all pretty much run the same out here. So I just stick with dial up cause its the cheapest.
I like light shows, and like listing to orchestras. I have never seen the 2 togther live, but it sounds cool. I have however listened to classical music on my 360 with the visulations playing....thats always fun when your high, rollin', or trippin'. They got some dudes that do a show with a mix of Rave and Classical, and have all kind of lights and stuff, that would probaly be a lot funner that a regular classical music, light show.....and would also be a lot funner if you were high, rollin', or trippin'.;)
Since when do reflections of light take on physical properties? Anyway, I could care less if everything I know is "real". Hell, take me to the source!Everything is made up of atoms....so yea nothing is real, just a reflection of light on atomic particles.
