Not gona update the sig but I have been doing a bit of upgrading
I currently am running...
Intel 860, Asus P7P55 deluxe, Intel x25m (80gb), 2X 300 GB velicoraptor, 8 GB mushkin DDR3 ram, 4870x2 (2gb) and other random things :D.

Yeah I ordered a eVGA. I even specifically stated it was to NOT be an overclocked model. So she says okay and orders me the card. I go in today to pick it up and it's not eVGA and it's overclocked. But I figured I don't want to wait anymore and it is still a 9800 GTX :D so I took it. Turns out I can get a lifetime warranty through BFG so this might be not too bad after all. Except that I was hoping for the eVGA step up cause there is a possiblity that Nvidia will have some new cards out later this year.
Anyways. I got a nice BFG 9800 GTX
755 Core
1869 or something like that shaders
2300 Memory.
That beats the 8800 GTX's 575,1280, 1800 clocks... Now if it will just work better :D
Okay so that is a minor upgrade from an 8800 GTX (and it annoys me that it only has 512 MB of ram).
No I am not getting a superclocked or any other such edition. I am just buying a 9800 GTX (which is really an overclocked 8800 GTS for double the money). So in that sense I am getting a superclocked 8800 GTS 2.0 edition.
OH well. The reason for this update is that this past saturday my 8800 GTX decided it would not function for more then 20 minutes before overheating. So I am currently using my old 7900 GT from my backup system. I would have suspected that flashing the bios caused this as well as the X-Fi's destruction. But I ruled that out as I have had some heat issues with this card a while back. And yes the sound has been much better since I got a PCI-E sound card and tossed the old one.
One thing I am looking forward to is that the 9800 GTX has the "physics" processor thing built in so I won't need my PPU anymore... Needed that for like 3 weeks for 1 game :D. Oh well since Nvidia owns Agiea now thy included that tech in the card.
Okay maybe this wasn't the best ram. They will give me an RMA if I send them a recipt. But since it failed once I am going to just switch brands. Time for some corsair Dominator stuff.
Oh what happened is I left my PC on only to come back and find it making some clever clicking sounds.... And no boot. So after disassembling it and reassembling it with a different assortment of parts I finally got it working again by poping in my old mushkin ram 1 GB of DDR2-667.... Let me tell you Vista really likes 2GB and if you only have one GB? Well let's just say I am back to using XP for now...
I was supprised how well this went. I had the system taken apart, motherboard swapped, physics card added and XP and Guild Wars up and running inside an hour and a half. I would have to say this was the most glitch free motherboard install I have ever done. I have no got Vista installed as well so I can get Crysis and UT up and running...
I have recently purchased UT3 Collectors, Crysis, Forged Alliance, Perseus Mandate, Helgate London, and Gears of War. So one of those should look nice in Vista. And hopefully that PhysX card helps a bit. It made quite a difference in the 3D Mark 06 CPU tests the second test was sped up quite noticably. I only have the CPU @ 3.2 as I just raised the multiplier one point to see if it works (I don't have the time or patience to OC just now. Maybe later this month) but my last test with this CPU was @ 3.6Ghz and I got 2k cpu marks... not the 2.6k I got with the physX card. Though I do have the ram working properly now (@1066 not 800 like with the old board as for some reason that P5W-DH would not supply sufficient voltage to the ram). Oh well I am now a Gigabyte fan and Asus hater :D. BTW I bought a BFG PhysX card just because it was not Asus...
Well finally I have ordered a new motherboard. As some of you know I am more then a little annoyed at Asus right now over my P5W-DH board which will no longer raise the multiplier or overclock past 270Mhz on the FSB due to Bios updates.
I have orderd a Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6. I did not get the T model as I wanted to stay with DDR2. I mean I just got 2 GB of 1066 DDR2 why upgrade now? Oh and I also ordered a PhysX card. Unfortunately it is an Asus one as they wanted twice as much for the BFG card. Oh well all I have to do now is get some time of and drive to Edmonton and pick them up :D
Edit: cancel the PhysX card. Memory Express is not being so easy to deal with so I'll probably order it from NCIX later or just purchase it in GP.
Update Again: The PhysX card is back on but I gave up on Edmonton and ordered them both for the same price in Peace River.
