Just explain to me why in all of the competitive gaming and I mean true competitive gaming for money and such no one uses a game pad for FPS? Have you ever seen those guys play? Not one game pad, not one.

[QUOTE="Re5ident_Evil"]Can;t deny facts or mass opinion, CoD4 does play better with a controller.Danm_999

Mass opinion? Which topic have you been reading. Your the first poster to support the TC :D

I think he might be referring to the fact that COD4 has sold far more on the console platforms than on PC. While not a strong, valid or intelligent argument that doesn't stop our President so why should it stop him?

Discuss who is the better main character, Nomad from Crysis or Master Chief from Halo. Personally, I think Master Chief is a joke and represents mainstream console gaming which is just horrible. While Nomad is new, fresh and represents the most technical and ground breaking game since HLF2.

LOL, what has influenced more FPS's: HLF2 or Halo?

*ejex from Flopic*

wok7

Uuuh....

Half Life 2 no comparison.............

On consumers, industry, tech, game gameplay.

everything.

You just named the influence of Halo, also left out things like vehicles, single-button grandes, ease of use to gamers, etc.

HL2, made picking up objects popular, and TP3 had a gravity gun like arm equipment, thats all.

Tribes had vehicles before Halo, ease of use is retarded because of course everyone strives to make things easier to use and single button grenades is not groundbreaking, in fact it makes most Halo MP matches a grenade fest. Also, using etc on that list like you had so many other things you could add is retarded. If you have more things to add then add them, don't use etc to make your arguement stronger.

[QUOTE="Kantroce"]You can sprint in Crysis pretty quickly, not 100mph but considerably faster. I'm just saying that Halo is a game, first and foremost and anything that goes against it goes back against the true medium of the character. If it was a book first, then they made a game then you could dispute it but it really is a game more than the stupid books they created because noobs would get behind such a shallow character and probably try to write a book report on it.FrozenLiquid
Halo is first and foremost a story concept. Because of that nature, it was able to be easily transfer from being a RTS, to a TPS, to a FPS. So there, your comments are now void. Vamoose.

Wrong. Bungie is first and foremost a game design company. The guy that thought it up did not say, "Hey! I've got a story concept." It was a concept for a video game. The books are derivative of what that game was. So, in the truest sense of your words, your words are now void.

But I'm sure your book report on the Master Chief made some great waves in the literary world that is high school English.

So guys, you know when you always ask why people game on consoles?

I think this topic can pretty much answer your question for you.

skrat_01

Because people like you that can't be bothered to even read the article and understand what was going on. Instead you just assume that you learned everything you needed to know by reading the title of the post. You don't seem to understand that they were running the game at 1900x1200 which last time I checked is a little higher than 720p.

For the record people, Crysis can be ran for cheaper than 1800 dollars and oh screw it no one is gonna listen anyways. For all intents and purposes to system wars, it costs at LEAST 3000 dollars to run Crysis at high settings...

Crysis runs on very high (on XP), 0XAA, @ 1240X1024 on my $700 USD PC - minus HDDs and Case.

I'm very well aware of what it costs to run Crysis. The last part of my post is sarcasm, did you even read it?

Your ingoring the resolution they use, It doesnt take nearly that much power to run it at a res equivalent to 720p.Cali3350

Finally, someone making some sense. The resolution they're running at at is nuts. Not to mention that they're running it in DX10 mode. So the simple fact they get the FPS they get in that is impressive to me because Vista is not running that game as well as XP is for the majority of users.

Sorry but the books of Halo are derivative of the games. If all those great things are true in the book then why can't you do them in the game? It's all so ridiculious then. I could just go write a Crysis novel and state things that have nothing to do with the game and are not even in the game by any stretch of the imagination. teh master chief can run 100 mph, I red it........in a book!

Yet I play the game and Master Chief is a Doom space marine with mad hops and a rechargable shield. Not impressed.
