I think the OP was thinking a lot of people were going to agree with him. This would have made him feel very good about himself and the thread he started (we get about 1 of these a week). Unfortunately I don't think he is getting the responses he wants

Jaysonguy

look at the poll, 62% agree with me. you say we get 1 thread a week but according to our levels and total posts, im on here alot more then you and i havent seen a thread like this in months

Great, and you've been proven wrong countless times in this thread as well

Gaming is an expensive hobby despite the fact that of all entertainment options it's refused to account for inflation for the last 30 years.

Everyone who is agreeing with you just wants things cheaper the way people want free samples in stores

No one in this thread has provided a single fact that games are somehow more expensive then they should be

quoted AND bolded for truth.

This is exactly right

When you have to start thinking about price when it comes to gaming then it's time to start looking at a new hobby

keep failing on your responses.

31% agree with you. What you can't comprehend your own pole?

BTW I found it funny how you had to go essentially "tell on me" because of the response I wrote you earlier. I mean, you seem to be able to dish out the heat and make fun of others...bout how much money you make compared to them, yet you can't take the heat when its dealt out to you. Like they say...if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen

Oh did I mention that only 31% of the people responding to the poll agree with you? You fail with your "62%". lollll go to bed son

I consider them when I'm looking at a game to buy. Mostly because we have kids at our house from time to time, and there are certain things that they don't need to see. That doesn't mean I won't buy the game, it just means that it's a game that won't be played while kids are around. Games like GTA, Killzone, and God of War. I also consider the language that's used in the games I play. Even if someone can't see what I'm playing they can hear what's being said. Frankly, I don't see the point of having bad language in games... IMO it doesn't enhance the gameplay. (This goes for movies too) I respect the devs for having freedom with their art, and I'm glad that they can have that freedom... I just don't always agree with the content. So, it basically comes down to what I want my kids to see me doing. jshaas

Why do you think bad language should not be used in movies? It's a huge part of everyday life. Guarentee your kids hear ENOUGH swearing at school...and if they aren't at school yet, well, they will when they get there.

I would love to hear your reasoning for this. Lets take saving private ryan for instance ? There is tons of swearing in that movie. All of it justifiable in my opinion. Imagina how silly/commical that movie would have been if say the soldiers instead of dropping F bombs said something like "darn it" all the time. lol

Simply put, Legend of Zelda OOT was 79.99 USD when it was released. Chrono Trigger was the same price point. Figuring for inflation, Games are quite cheap.

I'll be getting both games for sure...

I just see OP Flashpoint having a more niche multiplayer group. I don't think the young kiddies that run around playing CoD will have the patience to play dragon rising. Which is a good thing if you ask me.

I think the pricing on games is ridiculous. I mean, you sure wouldn't pay as much for a Chevy as you would for a Ferrari, but they think they can sell GI Joe for the same price as Uncharted 2 or God of War 3?

Completely nuts.

Jackc8

If you are stupid enough to buy GI Joe the video game you deserve to pay whatever price you pay.

I am curious to know the average age of the people here complaining about video game prices. Sounds to me like most are probably going to be 13-17 and expect to buy games with the allowance mommy and daddy give them.

Go get a job and you will realise that games just aren't that expensive. Now if you want to go out there and buy every game that gets released than of course it will get expensive.

I guess what I am trying to say is stop whining and get a job. Or just stop whining and wait till the price drops...

Games are priced just fine. Hell, was anybody here a gamer during the N64 era? Do you remember having to pay $60, $70, and even $80 for some games? Well I sure do. That was over a decade ago.

If you can't afford to pay for a game then I guess you should just wait until the price drops. Price drops on games occur pretty quickly, and when you factor in the used game market, eBay, GameStop, etc, games can easily be had for good prices very quickly after release.

I have no problem with game prices, both in terms of being able to afford them, and finding them worth the money.

nyc05

Man I remember dropping like 79.99 on Mario party when it first came out on N64.

As for the OP, BS I still see new releases sold at 59.99 and I live in Canada
