[QUOTE="AlienOverlord"]If they announced it in 2010 then it would still be another two years before they launched it (at least) which would make it a 2012 launch. That would be six years since the PS3 launched and they would continue to support it. By the year 2012 I'm sure we will want our consoles to catch up with computers again and they will need to compete with the 4th generation Xbox (the third generation will have already come out in 2009).Bluestorm-KalasI doubt that...
Actually it's probably right on. The first Xbox came out in 2001, the 360 in 2005. Another four years after that (2009) I bet Microsoft will release another console (if they are still in the gaming business). Technology gets better soo fast. I don't want to be stuck with today's technology in 2013 or 2014. No way! A PS4 in 2011 sounds right. The PS3 was originally going to come out in 2005, then it was delayed, then delayed again.
I think that what you are saying is pretty absurd. Nintendo is supposedly making $50 on each console. If they had decided to break even on every console, (Sony and Microsoft are losing money) and they had increased the price to $350 and taken out Wii Sports and sold it for $50, they yould have at least another $200 for a more powerful processor. The Wii would have been almost as powerful as the 360 and the PS3, and with the controller and great graphics, it would have still sold well. santiagochile
Well said! I agree!!
the graphics on the wii are fine. i dont think they are below what they should be... the graphics on zelda:tp were pretty good i thought... and its only going to get better.

Zelda was a Gamecube game ported to the Wii with NO graphical increase. If you think that is good then you don't lnow anything about graphics. In fact, in some places, TP was just atrocious looking. The walls of the caverns looked like a mess. The graphics of the Wii will hit a ceiling very soon. From then on, since PS3 and 360 will continue to get better, you can count on Wii graphics looking worse and worse. I think Nintendo could have made the Wii with much more power for better graphics, A.I., etc. It's too bad they stuck with 6 year old technology to go with the new controller. Oh well, I'll buy one when they are available, and I've played several games on the Wii, but the truth is you really can't expect many games with decent graphics.
[QUOTE="Xerlaoth"][QUOTE="santiagochile"]Nintendo won't drop the price unless demand dries up. That won't happen for a while. I suspect that the Wii, like the PSP, won't get a price until at least 2 years after it launched. That would put a price drop around the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009. Have fun waiting. The only console that needs a price drop now is the PS3!santiagochile
using that logic, wouldn't the wii take longer than psp to drop in price? cuz like...wii has already sold more units than psp, no? lol :(
I said at least! Besides, you don't know if the demand will continue. There are almost no games out yet, which is why I haven't. Judging by the latest releases from Nintendo and others like Mortal Kombat and Mario Party 8, the Wii isn't producing good graphics at all. I think if they don't improve the graphics, and offer decent online play, and get some games out there, that the demand might dry up sooner. Manhunt 2 (of all games) might draw interest, at least judging by the preview I read at IGN.com.
I agree!
