Or is it just me?

I got a new com last month ago.

This is my specs:

POV 8800GTS 320MB

E6600 2.4 oc to 3.2ghz

4GIGS APACER DDR2800

410GIG HDD

I've just installed Vista Home Premium yesterday...so I started to install Company of Heroes( patched to the latest version v1.71) and Lost Planet DX10.....

So I tried to play Company of Heroes in DX10 MAX OUT except shadows to off(cause I hate shadows) and Texture and Terrian set to Ultra. It started to lag like crazy!!!!!!

I updated my nvdia driver and everything else.

Does anyone knows the cause of this problem??

My guess is the 8800GTS 320MB.

Is the video ram too small for games coming out on DX10???

Does Company of Heroes use more than 320MB VRAM whenMAX out on DX10????

So is the 8800GTS 320MB a waste or is it just the optimization problem on Vista?????

Please Reply...

Really upset....................

A friend of mine told me that reformatting a hard drive will decrease its life span. Is it true?

I highly disagree with that as reformatting will put less load on the harddrive, etc.

I was wondering if you all could comment on this and prove who is the noob in here as I am having a bet with my friend here...

After the PS3 and XBOX 360 release, are the developers gonna do a PC release just like "The Chronicle of Riddick"?

I watch all of the darkness trailers, and I thought It will be great for a PC version release.

So whats your opinion?

It's Intel's Speedstep feature that lowers the clock speed when your computer is idle so heat can be reduced. You can turn it off in the Bios, but it's a good feature and only enables when your PC is idle.batistafan99

Thanks

[QUOTE="RayvinAzn"]What you could do is drop the multiplier on the processor down to x7 (stock is x9), and raise the FSB to 400 (should be doable on most 650i boards) so you can run your RAM at that nice 1:1 ratio. That would give you a 2.8GHz clock speed, and your temperatures should not go above 50c under load._SKatEDiRt_

Erm....... Can you explain that to me step by step on how to do it??

Thanks A Lot

and theres a sticky in this forum on that

A sticky?

I tried adjusting my FSB to 400 in the BIOS just now and I turn the multiplier to x7 and I ratio the memory speed to 1:1, but after I saved the setting and restart my computer, I get this annoying beep and my computer just go blank and ask me to restore the BIOS setting to normal. What have I done wrong??

Its a feature in the c2d's when its idle it lowers the multiplier and voltage to reduce power consumption you can disable this in the bios. I let this feature run so when its idle it runs at 1.9 ghz instead of 3.5 ghz, 3.5 ghz makes my processor toasty :)MondoCool

Ok. Thanks You. I get it now!!

Does your processor does the same thing?? Does it reduce performance for game when it does that????

BTW, How do you post pictures in gamespot??

RayvinAzn

Yes, my processor does the same thing, it's perfectly normal. Load up your processor, and watch CPU-Z show it jump up to its rated speed. This will not affect performance, unless your processor is having some serious problems with the Speedstep technology (and this would more than likely cause several other things to go wrong as well.

Posting pictures on these forums is no different than any other BBCode forum - use an [ img ] tag to start the URL, and close it with an [ /img ] (without the spaces, of course).

Thanks a lot!! I really appreciate it!! I would try posting some pic of my processor frequency tommorow!!
