I just looked at all the scores GS gave to all the other Socom games for PS2 and PSP and ALL the ones made by zipper have scored 8.2-8.9, none whatsoever made by zipper scored below 8 and 2 of them for the PS2 scored a 8.9! WOW definitley excited for Socom 4

Oh, so the sequel is socom 4. Gotta say, I expected it to be Resistance 3 or a new Killzone. :P

Its just a little underwhelming because the last socom flopped, but I'm sure if zipper is doing it then the series can be redeemed. I'm officially excited for it!

People here arent looking at the big picture.. This is the 2nd PS3 exclusive shooter announced for this year and everyone is already fussing about it.. Look the PS3 has something for everyone this year.. From stuff like Heavy Rain and GOW3 to GT5, Modnation racers and the Last Guardian.. everyone is acting as though this is the only PS3 exclusive announced this year.. Socom has a huge following and has sold 12 millions copies combined worldwide.. Ofcourse Socom 4 was coming.. Calm down people, GDC and E3 are still to come.

I have a feeling when the trialer is shown tonight on GTTV all the haters will have a change of heart.. I think it will look amazing and the screen shots already look great and its still in alpha stage.

Agreed. I think people are just hating to because they were wrong. You didn't see really anyone saying it would be a new SOCOM. Everyone was saying Sly 4 or Syphon Filter 4, but no one mentioned SOCOM 4(wow that's a lot of 4s)

First IGN said that Zipper said Socom 4 WILL HAVE a single player campaign that is very story drive and be minimum 12 hours long.. It also said it will have a very deep mp with up 32 players in a match. I think Socom 4 is the perfect game to release this holiday.. After reading the hands on impressions of the game form IGN the game sounds amazing and i cant wait for it!

For those bashing this game solely because of Confrontation, remember that was made by completly different devs with a lot less money and resources.. Zipper is very well known for making the Socom games great and remember MAG just scored AAE here and it didnt even have a single player campaign like Socom 4 will.

I think this announcement lives up to the hype for GTTV.. I mean be glad, it could have been something small like Flower 2 or Echochrome 2 or something like that. This is pretty huge news! We need more third person shooters, there is way to many FPS and not enough TPS..

I dont get why all the hate for Socom 4 and why everyone seems disappointed, i mean honestly what where you expecting? Some sequel to a PSone game that noone even cares about?
