No you cant. When they give out permanent bans they ban your motherboard's ID. That means you must replace your console in order to go online once again.
Dvd was a giant upgrade from vhs. Blu-ray is a minimal upgrade. I dont see people buying ps3 for watching blu-ray when 360 has a dvd player in it.

You obviously still play and watch your movies on a square 21". FHD resolution is about 7 times sharper than what the old DVD is capable of outputting. And guess what? It's only possible on Bluray unless you use multiple discs - just like Rage will be.
Honestly, I really wanted to have Alan Wake as I barely finished building up my new rig. The game looks REALLY curious and interesting. But now that those hopes have shattered, Heavy Rain seems intriguing enough to give it a try.
