If Nintendo didn't innovate they would most likely just get crushed.

I think Rift is a very good game. It is a pretty standard MMO but it takes the best from a lot of different games, adds a very customizable and fun class system, polishes it up and the end result is a pretty amazing game.
They already are releasing new raids etc. and responding to player feedback very promptly (making it harder to be dismounted, buffing mages etc.)
That said, there is something about these modern MMOs that I think is missing. I don't feel like I'm exploring a world, I'm just moving from place to place killing enemies, doing instances..it's all too easy. While fun, it lacks the sense of awe that games like everquest gave(when it first launched). I'd rather just be thrown into a world(with many different starting areas..) where I need to explore and figure things out for myself. My only problem with Rift(and the other MMOs of today) is that I never feel like I've accomplished something, it's too easy to go everywhere and do everything and I have no incentive to just go explore and see what I can find and accomplish.
People complain about everything. Also, there are a lot of MMO haters out there who just want to throw as many reasons as possible out there why MMOs are stupid.
To each his own.
This is a problem with Vista...I just had it the other day. To fix it: right click on the launcher and go to properties, click on "Compatibility" and at the bottom check the box "Run this program as an administrator", if you click on the button below that there is another run as administrator check box to click so all users can play it as well.

[QUOTE="Tjeremiah1988"]whos not to say Biden isnt or hasnt gotten any heat as of late? Truth is, Palin has had more screen checking/cancel interviews due to her lack of knowledge on many important topics. And its the "plumbers" fault and no one elses.Trashface
And matter of fact, you say Palin has less knowledge, yet she has NEVER responded as childishly and ignorantly as Biden. When asked tough questions, Biden gets upset and throws a tantrum. This should scare people. A campaign responding to tough questions with attempted control. It's mind blowing how anyone could want this for our country.
lol!!!! seriously??
I've never seen her go "Is that some sort of joke???"
That's because she doesn't get such heavily slanted questions like that.If she was getting questions like "is it true that you're stupid and not fit for any sort of government?"
Are you kidding. Almost all of Palin's early interviews consisted of slanted questions asked to trap her. Biden's questions were justgiving him a chance to explain the words of himand Obama and he gfot mad. Blind
I seriously hope you don't believe what you said. Palin gets softball questions everywhere she goes and she can't even handle that.
[QUOTE="Johnny-Quest"]Because it's most peoples first mmorpg. Most people get addicted to their 1st mmorpg, and wow has blizzard behind it and it's easy to play from the get go while older mmorpgs just throws you into the world and says goodluck.-wildflower-
This. If WoW had been made by ANY other company it would have already been forgotten like, say, Horizons, Earth and Beyond, AC2, etc. Blizzard fans are like cultists. It's very odd and creepy the devotion they have for a faceless corporation. Personally, there are better, non-EQ clone, MMORPG's to play.
Compared to those MMOs WoW is just better. Other MMOs are much harder, the gameplay isn't as tight or balanced and it takes easily 3-4 times as long to do ANYTHING.
Also, WoW has the best PvP of any MMO hands down with both world PvP, Battlegrounds and arena. People like it because it is made by Blizzard, not because they are cultists, but because Blizzard just makes better games.
[QUOTE="svetzenlether"][QUOTE="WillieBeamish"]I think the Wii is a great console for people that don't like videogames. I've had no motivation to purchase more than 2 games for my Wii: Metroid Prime Corruption & Big Brain Academy. I've rented all the top rated Wii games including Galaxy, Kart, Zelda, & Boom Blox... and wasn't even remotely compelled to purchase them.
In contrast, I have about 30 titles for my 360. Until last week, I'd never traded a 360 game in. That changed this past weekend when I traded the horrible Battlefield Bad Crapany and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 in for Civ Revolution (it was well worth it, too).
I actually felt some remorse for trading the games in because I've never done that before (and I don't buy used, either) but both of those games were garbage and I couldn't stand to have them taint my otherwise superb collection of games.
I keep the Wii, not because its a fun system, but because when non-gamer friends come over, we can play wii sports when nothings on TV.

Conversly, I have the opposite feeling. I really enjoy all the Wii games you mentioned as having zero interest in, while I couldn't really care less if I ever play any of the 360 exclusives. To each his/her own I guess...
Sorry, but I graduated from the oversimplistic, joke of a storyline type games put out by nintendo, oh about the time of the N64.
Its just like when I was 10, I loved watching B-rate horror flicks & whatnot. Since then I've moved on to more sophisticated movies with real production values, top-notch acting, well crafted stories, etc. Chasing a princess got old 5 marios ago.
I play games to have fun. It doesn't have to have huge production values and be to be fun and engaging. If I wanted a great story I'd pick up an RPG or read a book.

You are a third rate sega cd game meaning everything you say is not valid.
I like Blizzard much more. But then again I like stategy and RPG type games way more than shooters.
If you like shooters you will like Valve more, this comparison is ridiculous. They both make excellent extremely polished, extremely fun and critically acclaimed games, it depends on what genre you like.
