I don't know if we will ever know if anything is official unless its actually from Nintendo. But CoroCoro is a pretty well known magazine in Japan and they regularly promote toys and video games with stories and articles featuring them. The magazine helped started the pokemon trend as pokemon blue was only sold through the magazine at first.
So I'd say whatever they say isn't someone just making stuff up.

well i'm not. i think people are overhyping, and are getting their hopes up for updates, so its their problem if they get disappointed. i think the reason why we won't get any character updates is because they are supposed to be announced on Dec. 15. anyways...Rotation mode seems like a good feature....the more features, the better the game will be.

Is anyone else worried that Kirby wasn't on the character selection screen on the update from Friday? I mean he was the only original 8 not on that screen. So does that mean that A) We will only be able to use certain characters online? B) He will be an unlockable character, while Sonic isn't? or C) Hopefully they switch that before the game is released.
I honestly hope that most of these newcomers are unlockable rather than just being dumped into the fray without any form of explanation. They need to keep the Original 8 intact for the roster, it would just be criminal otherwise. Who wants to be rewarded with an unlockable Kirby who they already know of and have used twice before in Smash Bros.?

Sakuria just showed a shot of the demo character selection screen. It has nothing to do with Kirby or anyone else being unlockable or not.
