I've been following this game for quite a while, and I'm disappointed. It looks like another 5 or 6 out of 10 MMO from Funcom. They should have learned to give up after AoC.
Yet another example of companies holding back content that could have been released with the original launch. Nickle and diming. They even admitted holding back the religion/espionage content for future expansions because THEY thought it would be too overwhelming for the player to make the transition for c4 to c5 with all the changes. What a bunch of horse poo.
Anyone complaining about the game being too easy needs to stfu and play hardcore. I have a 42 Witch Doctor in HC, Act 2 NM, and I'm too afraid to leave town by myself. Also, I haven't noticed any bugs. This game is far more polished than 99% of massive online games that come out nowadays. Sure, there was a few hours at the beginning where the servers defecated themselves, but since then the servers have been reliable enough to not die while playing.
I strongly suggest playing this game if you're a fan of any FPS. A lot of people are complaining about server lag, but I've only experienced that in about 5% of the games I've played.
This is an excellent article, and I believe it will open up a few eyes. However, it does leave out the possibility that CE's of mainstream games hold higher collector's value over long term, which would help justify the ballsy raping of our wallets and dignity. Brendan Sinclair is correct, and we can see the trend in just the last five years. It used to be that only the most anticipated games with the most reputable developers would release an expensive CE, but now it seems like every other new release has a CE.
