Colosseum: Road to freedom. I'm also messing around with Romancing Saga by squre enix. The saga series is pretty crappy most of the time but i really like their mechanics even though they dont work. Romancing Saga is actually turning into a nice slow paced standard rpg. It has a kind of high difficulty factor because monsters keep up with our progress and if you dont keep up with your equipment you can start getting the crap knocked out of you. I'll be writing a review for it in a few days or so but if I end up liking it I would call it under appreciated lol. I never see people talk about it.

Yu-gi-Oh Capsule Monster Colosseum is probably another under appreciated game. That game is awesome. You build a little game piece that represents your base, it has these different stats. Then you choose a starter pack of monsters who are all made up of 6 different attributes like wood or light or water. Each monster can gain experience which can grant it abilities to use in battle or change its stats. The really cool part is that battles take place over this grid based area. There are all kinds of attributes on the grid that if you stand on can make you stronger or weaker. Then you play your base and your monsters.

Once the battle starts you take turns with your opponent moving your monsters around the map and ake them fight. Your monsters are like chess pieces though. They have specific patterns that they have to follow when they move. Some can move straight up/down left/right, others can move diagonally, some have to skip sqaures. Basically any monster can be killed in two attacks so you have to be very strategic and try to get the first strikes in so you can kill monsters without geting hit back. As you fight people you can win cards and money. You can use the money to buy more cards, and build up a cool deck of monsters.

I could probably name some others like "Carnage Heart" from ps1 but I've probably rambled on long enough. _AbBaNdOn

Wow, you must have a lot of free time in your hands lol, I think Killzone and Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death were way too underated. Suikoden V, I think should have gotten a little higher too

Smackdown SYM and HCTP are awesome and I still play them from time to time. Everything else after was just, boring. The seasons modes were crap too.

You should start at the beginning with the ps1 games. Mech customizing and single player is what they were all made for. Do any of them have online support yet? I dont remember and if any of them do it was only the last couple. I liked the missions but I hate that you have to pay for ammo which means everyone just uses energy based weapons. Ammo guns and missles/rockets are only good in the arena where they are free lol. Another thing I dont like about the series is that the computer cheats and can stay locked onto you no matter what and knows exactly how to move in order to keep you in his sights.

Its extremely annoying in mech vs mech fights either during a mission or in the arena. Also I feel like fat mechs are not balanced very well against skinny mechs. Fat mechs should have like 2-3 times the amount of armor they get now just to counter the skinny mechs mobility. The story lines in every single one of the games sucks bad lol.

Armored Core did give me some really cool memories though. The old ones that you could use a link cable with two play the game on two tv's with two playstations and both people agree not to use heads with radar or radar accessories. Thats some awesome crap right there. One or two of the later ones also. I think they all do instant replays of the entire battles but my favorite was the AC with the versus map that had the floating islands. That was a freaking awesome stage and had wicked replays lol.

One of the things that are different about each one are the special abilities you can unlock and how good overboosting works. And the newer ones have some crappier overboosting mechanics and not so great special abilities. But they have the biggest array of parts and stuff so.....

I didnt play that much of Silent Line and I never got to play Last Raven so betwen 2 and 3 I would have to go with 2. But I think you should go back to the beginning._AbBaNdOn

Thank you very much sir, Armored Core 2 was one of the ones that came to mind. I'll probably get Armored Core 2: Another Age if I manage to find it somewhere

I've never played any Armored Core games before and I was thinking of getting one. However there are quite a few titles on the PS2 and I wanted to know which was the best in terms of customizability and single player mode. Thanks in advance
