You could try port triggering on the router. From my understanding it is the same as Forwarding the port (opening) for a dynamic ip adress. You should be able to do this with a pc if you log into the routers webpage (ip adress of residential gateway) and there should be a triggering configeration page. It shouldn't be more much more complicated than opening a port for a static ip adress.

Look for help on Portforward.com

and yes dell xp edit: i found the os disc put it in and it still freezes at bios screen

i tried pressing the f12 button for bios menu but nothing happens.and i doubt i still have the original disc
