If you're planning on overclocking.. go for the Gigabyte DS3 rev. 1.3 and the Core 2 Duo E4300 instead of that Gigabyte S4 and X2 4600+

The 8600GT is fine.

Hiryuu_

so is intel better than amd for overclocking???

How u guys doing, im trying to build a decent PC under $700. This is my first time.

I did some research and selected required hardwares at neweggs.

i was just wondering this is a OK setup, I don't even know if they are gonna work together....

Sony NEC Optiarc 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black E-IDE / ATAPI Model 7170A-0B - OEM

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3160215A 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM

GIGABYTE GA-M55SLI-S4 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

XFX PVT84JUDF3 GeForce 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model VS2GBKIT533D2 - Retail

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+(65W) Windsor 2.4GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO4600CUBOX - Retail

I basically selected from TOP SELLER Items and read the reviews. I still don't get what makes it a better motherboard,

and im not sure if i should go with intel or AMD. I heard AMD is the best for 'price to perfomance ratio'.

please help and give me some advice thanks!!!
