Not Really. I played Killzone 1 for the PS2 on my 60Gig PS3 and there were still a Few Online Matches!!! Same for Star Wars Battlefront 1 for the PS2...
This is the ULTIMATE Site for finding Which Games Support Co-Op and to what Extent. http://www.co-optimus.com/system/2/playstation_3.html I recommend Call of Duty: World at War Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Little Big Planet Resistance 2 Rainbow Six Vegas 2
I have to protest the New Madden NFL 2010. I saw the DLC they have and it seems ridiculous to have to pay for LB Scouts, DB Scouts, Play through the Pain, etc. This seems as if they dummed down the Franchise AI so they can charge you to fix it. As if they took out something from Madden 09 so they can charge for it in DLC form in Madden 10. I realize everyone would love to make the kind of money that Call of Duty World at War is making from their DLC. Media Molecule seems to be doing pretty well with their DLC, because I personally love buying new costumes for my SackBoy. However, the Madden DLC seems like a Slap in the Face. Now my Ideal DLC for Madden I think would sell a TON. How many people would pay for DLC of their Favorite Retired Players? If EA was to add Legends as DLC they would have a winner in my opinion. Could You Imagine if we could download Legends and recruit them to our Team. Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, Mean Joe Green, Lynn Swann, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Jim Brown, Brett Favre, Joey Harrington (Thats a joke... I'm an unfortunate Lion Fan), John Elway, Dan Marino, Deion Sanders, Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Johnny Unitas, Roger Staubach, Dick Butkus... etc. etc. That is some DLC I would definitely pony up for. How much would you pay for DLC Legends? Who would you want to see as DLC for Madden?
The Square Trade Data You quote is from 2006!!! The 360 Failure Rates have Gone up since then because many people got their Red Ring of Death in Year 2 or Year 3. 2006 was Year One for the 360. It is actually higher than 30% Check http://gizmodo.com/271487/xbox-360-failure-rate-30-says-retailers http://www.pcworld.com/article/134144/estimates_say_xbox_360_failure_rate_as_high_as_33.html All that and even these articles are both over 2 years old. I received my First "Red Ring of Death" after 2 years. This was Followed by my 2nd and 3rd. After the 3rd my 360 was DEAD!!! If you search the Internet It is flooded with conflicting information. I think Microsoft is Trying to Muddy the Waters to make it look like it is better than it is. I like the ArsTechnica article. It seems as though it is trying to excuse the 360s Failure rate as "Normal" However ArsTechnica is also using the very old 2006 SquareTrade Data. If the 360 failures are above 30% that aligns them with PCs which have a High Failure Rate due to Windows and People Not knowing what they are doing with their PC and self afflicted wounds. As an Owner of a PS3, Wii and a DEAD 360, and a Used Replacement 360. I think that Microsoft has Done a TERRIBLE Job. Which is why I buy mostly for my PS3, 2nd Most for Wii, and the 360 is for HALO GAMES ONLY!!!

The Best Site for Checking Co-Op for Games has to be Co-Optimus. Check it out here http://www.co-optimus.com/system/2/playstation_3.html My Favorites so far have been: Resistance 1 - 2 Player Split-Screen Co-Op through the Whole Story. Resistance 2 - You can 2 Player Split-Screen in MultiPlayer and through the 8 Player Co-Op missions. Warhawk - Split Screen Multi-Player for up to 4 Players. MotorStorm Pacific Rift - 4 Player Split Screen. LittleBigPlanet - 4 Players and a lot of Fun!! Army of Two - 2 Player Split Screen through the whole Story. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Split Screen through the Story and Split Screen in Multi-Player. Call of Duty World at War - Split Screen through the Story. Check that Co-Optimus site, it is very comprehensive. It shows # of Split Screen, Number of Online Co-Op, Split Screen in MultiPlayer.
There is supposed to be a Separate Co-Op Mode. No word on whether that includes Split-Screen or not... Nobody cares about us Split-Screen Gamers anymore...
It should be and always be free to play your $60 game online for Free!!! Even Worse on our 360 we have to Share 1 XBox Live Profile. The Buddy List does not work very well when you have to share with a Family. That is why we play more on the PS3. My Son, Daughter, Wife, My Sons Friends, and Myself all have our Own Profile on PSN on our PS3. My Sons Friend has his Profile on our system and his own PS3. Same PSN too. Try that on XBox Live. Our Family would have to pay $200 a year for XBox Live... I don't Think so. I wish Microsoft would make Live Free or at least make the Charge per Console.
Call Sony. You have a 1 year warranty. If your system is older than that they can repair for a small fee I would imagine. Either way it can't hurt to call them...
