Stronger =/= Better Fighter

Goku doesn't really know how to fight- he picked it up as he went along. Vegeta on the other hand is trained and much more skilled.

3- At any point when they are on equal footing (as far as transformations are concerned) Vegeta is the better fighter. In fact, he's the better fighter 100% of the time, but when Goku has a leg up on him (SS3 to SS2 for example) Goku is more powerful. Vegeta is just better all around.
