So my thoughts so far on the beta for those that cannot see it yet:

Character movement is kind of slow but i attribute this to the fact i have been playing MAG and BFBC2 which are both FPS which can cloud this portion.

Its very MAG like with xp, and other display areas. But it does have a few funny things i noticed, when someone killed me and then i respawned and killed them it said "remember me" on the screen and i got triple the XP. So I am sure more things like that to come in the future.

Obvioulsy not sure about pistols yet, but you can pretty much carry any two weapons you want i had a sniper and assault, assault and shotty, smg AR so its just up to you.

Knifing is just like MAG so if you know that its left hand knife swipe when you hit the button

Supression is the only game mode though, i thought it would have bomb squad but have not noticed where to get that game mode yet does not look available to me.

Campers but thats not new to socom so should not really be dwelled on.

Its fun but if you are used to FPS right now it will take a bit to get used, the MAP was lush and seemed like many ways to get to where you wanted in the MAP. The side MAP is completely from MAG blue dots, red dots etc.

More to come later as i still look into playing, its socom in a new light its still fun and classic mode is exactly what you would expect with all the changes.

i tried it with the sharpshooter, and man was it smooth and precise, felt natural. the game looks awesome by the way, no lag so far no frame rate issues, at least so far from what im been playing. and overall, they did a good job and im happy, cant wait for it to be releasedJoKeR_421
I would not get too excited yet i got a private beta invite too so DL now and play later, but no lag becuase not as many people as it will be later on. But hopefully there servers are set up which i think they will be better. cant wait to test it out

Did you take into account any downloadable games you may have as well. Its something you are just not seeing i promise you, or your not adding it up correctly. Do you have a lot of themes downloaded etc.

take into account game data that is installed from a lot of games now and that is usually 4-5GB when a game has that initial install. Then take all your game saves, and the about 6-7GB you alread lose with the OS etc. Also if you have multiple USER ID's dont forget to add up all the saves there as well. Have you ever deleted your messages from friends sent/recieved its not a lot but if you have never done it before it can add up. on a 60GB hard drive you start out with about 54GB-9gb of saves that leaves you with 45GB so you are missing something 20GB worth you are not paying attention too

[QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"]That's pretty sad that they'll try to sell a game based on its awesome single player story and ship something that's only 5 hours long. I mean, the story could still be pretty good, but in 5 hours you're losing valuable gameplay somewhere. 5 hours worth of gameplay is not worth $60 nomatter how good the story is. For people who don't play multiplayer there's even less value there. BH14

And not only the real short campaign bad decision but this game needs an online pass to use the online multiplayer. People who buy the game new will have it but the people who get it used will need to purchase an additional $10 online pass to use the mulitplayer.

This is starting to be the norm for online shooters it seems, BF had it , Need for Speed had it, all an attempt to make you want to buy new and not help the used game market make millions. Still by the time i want to buy a game that has it, its still cheaper to buy used and get that pass

i haveread a few comments from some people that somehow got it or saw stuff on the MP. But it is a short campaign and it has like battle points type that you can only by upgrades in the game you cannot save up after etc. Also no revive like medical if your a BF or Mag fan, it said it was kind of generic and nothing great. did have some cool blood spray deaths but no medkits either more COD cover till health comes back. Hearing dissapointing

you can buy a turtle beach headset which is very good as far as sound IMO never tried a triton though not about to spend tha tmuch for a headset. Then you can get a Squaretrade warranty for 3 years including if you mess it up your self for like 11.99 and probably cheaper they always have deals off with codes. so half the price and a 3 year warranty cant beat that for about 75$

I doubt the would remake Socom 2 only becuase its a MP game and they would have to servers up for it. Confrontation was not horrible IMO people just complain too much. S4 does not look horrible its just a huge change game modes, lobbies gone etc. and again people dont like change. I love socom 2 but i bet you if they made it and did not touch anything from the original S2 people would complain it did not have stuff that games have now i just know they would. Interested to see how S4 is, especially the classic mode

I was considering backing up my game saves, but then I thought about it, and I don't even really care about my game saves. If my phat PS3 were to brick and I were to go out and get a slim, I wouldn't even care about the fact that I had lost all my saves. I would think of it as an excuse to replay through those games with a fresh start.

The whole "cloud" thing kind of got me thinking about this, and while I can understand why people would be concerned about brick proofing their saves, I just don't really care about mine. I have some pretty good saves, but like I said, I really wouldn't mind starting from scratch and getting it all over again, but that's just me.

arkephonic
I will give you an example my ps3 bricked and i was half way done with just cause 2 and fallout New vegas. thats a lot of work and its hard for me to want tto replay the same game taht much. its just a lot of work down the drain so yes i care about certain game saves

[QUOTE="scar-hawk"]Get KZ3. MAG was disappointing. It had a very cool concept though.MarcRecon

I wouldn't say that MAG was disappointing....maybe not that great would be a better description.:P

IDK seems good to me in a time when all others want to give you less online play with 16 vs 16 they upped it with a whole bunch more and it runs for the most part very good never froze, minor lag. All games can use some tweeks and you cannot make everyone happy if you did there would be nothing to look forward too
