PCs have an image issue. A decent gaming PC is still more expensive than a console, and does require a bit more love and attention than a 360 or PS3. The consoles have marketing and a whole image to buy into that is pretty enticing. Consoles are more social (multiple controllers) and usually get put in the living room - PCs generally lack both of these things.

We've got "I'm a PC and...". Or a 5 year old taking pictures.

Plus, people are impatient. They want it awesome and they want it NOW. PCs usually involve waiting longer than a console (not necessarily in the long run, but where it "counts" - start up and installation).

The PC is the geek in the maths class - bad image, excellent results, not popular; the consoles are the jocks in that class - good image, mediocre results, popular. Numbers don't always count...

When i plugged in my External Harddisk into my lappy , the Hard disk was read as Local K . When i tried to acess it , Windows explorer crashed . Any one has an idea of whats wrong ? Hardware error or disk read error ?

i run on 1600 X 900 with my 5870 perfectly with no slowdowns and averaging around 50 + fps.

(1) i use DX 10

(2) i turned off adv PhysX

(3) AAA

My CPu is only 2.83 ghz (Q505), 4gb ram .

Your 5970 should kick Metro 2033 in the arse... just dont go MSAA X 4 and you will be fine .

i would say LoL. HoN is too much like dota including all the bad things. one of the main reasons i dislike HoN is because most of its items are force the player into a single uber build for one hero. in LoL however you must make sure you buy the items that will work in that particular game (some heroes have less choice i admit) so that the player has more choice depending on their playstyle.Kh1ndjal

That Was the reason why i hated players in SEA dota .. too cookie cuttter based and inflexible players (u tell them to buy Necro book 3 for DK becoz there's SA and BH running around , they tell u to burn in hell and proceed to buy useless tank items). HON has more 'elite' type of players who are willing and able to mold their heros according to the flow of the match and the need of their teammates, not like in dota where ppl dont wanna think out of the box.

IMO the best , most flexible and most satisfying to use heroin DOTA is invoker . period . He is the reason why i occasionally go back to dota with my friends . No fixed builds , many choice of skills depending on lane and opponent team and superb synergy when teammates know how to tag with you.

And To those who feel that Camping is a really noobish tatic , think about this

PS:When i play FPSes , i do camp / hide to trick chasing opponents then flank them from the sides or BS them but i dont just sit there and do nth except for waiting ...(referring to BC 2 bush snipers ...recons that dont scout at all).

If its a Arena game like the original UT 1998 , it would suck to have bullet like physics becoz of its nature (Sci - fiction)

However , i feel that modern shooters should have more realistic physics like those in BC 2 as it really adds alot of depth into the shooter game as it really makes the player think and aim before firing a single shot , rather than just fire upon sight.Although i really feel that BC 2 's hit detection can use some tweaking imo : rapid firing ur M16A2 into ur opponent at 3 cm range should turn ur enemy into a honeycomb , not him knifing u instead !

Nah , if i had the Cash i rather go for 2 X 5870's or a single 5970 ... the GTX 480 runs like a jet engine and the price difference of it and 5970 is not really big. Plus in Singapore , Nvidia cards are generally more expensive than ATI cards (GTX 295 costs close to 1k SGD omg)

well i only have a 1600 X 900 (20 inch) monitor . .. just that the Recent Metro 2033 made me a bit paranoid that my computer may not handle games like Crysis 2 maxed out . My CPU is a Q505 (apparently its basically a Q550 with some differences in cache size).

PS: I am pretty new to the DIY com scene (just got my DIY rig during Jan 8 2010 after ditching my NEC Pent D junk) , not really sure how Overclocking works... read up on google but all the tech jargon seems complicated . Is there Software OC through devices like Rivatuner or i have to fiddle with the bios settings ?
