Depends on who you ask. :P

There's no set standard. To some, you stop being a newb when you've reached 30.000 posts or reached level 30, or been a member for more than 3 years. While to others you stop being a newb when you've gained some kind of notoriety within the community itself.

This question is really easier answered if we have some other measure of comparison:

In video games, you usually stop being a newbie when you stop acting like one. So, how does a gamespot newbie act? I guess lurking the AtM board is your safest bet if you want to find out.

[QUOTE="rawsavon"]On a 'low-medium-high' scale, I would say 'MEDIUM'

I'd say medium-high, a good 6.5/10. You did host a pretty reputable banned thread.

I have had the rare privilige of playing Dark Room Sex Game at the IT University of Copenhagen. Unfortunately for me, i had only my brother to play it with, thus resulting in the gaming experience being extremely awkward and weird. For those who do not know, Dark Room Sex Game is an award-winning multiplayer, erotic rhythm game without any visuals, played only by audio and haptic cues. The game can be played with Nintendo Wiimote controllers or a keyboard.

since we cant leave earth to go to these galaxies and whatnot that are this much older than earth, we cannot physically prove that they are that old. but if all the science and math works .. .. yeah.. its 3 am .. this is a rare intellectual thread.. i wish u wouldve posted in the day :(nimatoad2000
But, what constitutes physical evidence? Is a presentation of matter a nucleus ingredient? Because if that is really the case, there is very little we can prove. ;o

Crystals of zircon found in the jack hills of western Australia are approx. 4.4-5 billion years old. (Age was determined by a process of radiometric age dating) The known universe has a calculated age of 13.73 +_ 0.12 billion years. (Age was determined by measuring temperature flux* (as in the continous state of change* @ term) found within cosmic micro-waves that beset the cosmos background + parameters of correlated function of galaxies*1.) We backtrack and analyze a chain of causation (obviously not meant in the legal sense of the term, but in the sense of a series of events, each of which was caused by the immediately previous event), step by step, keeping the overall connections and correlations in mente by using our excellent human sense of logic (huzzah!), but said chain put aside, is there anything we can empirically prove to be older than 13.73 +_ 0.12 billion years old? Anything older is "just" theory, or? Not that i mean to belittle the gravity of theoretical physics, but if there is any clear-cut factual data, i would like to know. Thanks! :) 1*= random example: C (s,t) = corr (X (s), X (t)) (i hope i got it right, if not, im sure there is some willing soul out there, who will jump at the chance of correcting me.)

I agree with Pianist that there isn't that much difference between different sub genres of metal. But I must say, I believe these sub-genres exist only to make categorization easier and not to try and promote the view that metal must be an extremely varied genres because of the amount of sub genres in it.

PerilousWolf
I think youre quite right. The only ones promoting the view that the various metal subgenres is highly diverse is the metal fanboys. Categorization serves a functional purpose, no doubt - but the fanboys (as with most things) corrupts its by claiming it their own, and thus the elitism sparked by the inflated ego commences. ;o
