This is a great post. I am also a PC gamer and am also considering the 360. Some of my friends have one, and I've played a bit of Halo 3. I can tell you a few things that may help you out.

1- The HDTV is the biggest thing. I would seriously consider it. It makes all the difference on earth. Although I must admit I don't know what SDTV is.

2-That being said if your gonna get the HDTV don't get the $300 core. Get the premium or elite, being that it has the HDMI and HDD.

3-Like I said I've played Halo 3, and the online matches are pretty sweet. This coming from a pc gamer. I like the ranking system and matchmaking actually believe it or not.

4- Don't forget the PC. Remeber we have Crysis and Starcraft 2. Also unreal 3 before the 360 8)

It probably is ilegal. Think about it, if you had a VHS, back in the day:P and it got chewed up or whatever you were screwed and had to get a new one. Same thing here.
