If you're going to get that your better off to go to Walmart and pick up a cheap one in store. You should invest a bit more than that though, comfort and sound quality are both very important in choosing an online headset. Set a budget ($30+ is reasonable) and look online for reviews of headsets in your price range.

I never realized how a good community really makes a game so good. you dont really see that with consoles. All the servers I played on were terrific. Everyone was helpful and I havent had 1 bad experience.
Do you guys generally stick to 1 server or do you just play any of them???
Whenever you play on a server where you had fun add it to your favourites. I have a list of 10-15 servers that I constantly play on depending on which maps I want to play because I know I'll always have a good time.
Dawn of Discovery is a pretty good game that can be played as a casual relax game or you can really get into it and create large empires. There isn't much for fighting in Dawn of Discovery but it doesn't do anything to hurt the game.
Is Hearts of Iron any good? I've never played any of them but I like the WW2 settings and strategy games so it seems like a good idea. I'm on the fence about L4D2 but wasn't a huge fan of the first game.
Depending on your motherboard you can go to the official forums and find some tutorials there, EVGA has some great ones. Or check out overclock.net, try not to just put in the numbers someone else does though, every CPU is different so you'll have to play with the settings yourself.
