I was hyped until I thought about it... I think it will be great, but the controls aren't worth the 40 extra dollars you will pay for this game now. I could just pick up a new copy of the GC version for $20.Â
I'd have to say my self I'm torn between the traditional games such as Zelda and Mario etc., and the revolutionary control scheme that is expanding the industry.
Pokemon comes out for the DS next month... But does it come out for the wii too? (The battle revolution) And I do think that Nintendo would leave us without headsets... But I wouldn't be surprised if they made them, I'm just not expecting anything. They did made mics for the GC tho sooooo....
I think wii is a great name. When I found out I thought it was way better then something corny like the revolution. But I read in an interview that often often people in Japan come up with shortforms for things, and they wanted something that could not be broken down, was short and not region specific, and original... Thus wii.
Considering you have all ready bought it I'd say enjoy it. It's a great game with tons of replay value. I haven't beaten it in a while but I'm assuming you've never played it before which means you could put in 15+ hours at least collecting everything. The 7 it recieved is probably because everyone who owns this game has probably beaten it a fair amount of times and probably still owns it. So it being released on the VC (as many N64 will have the same effect) isn't as 'special' as a blast from the past from NES unless you've never played it.
I agree with there criticisms even though I thought it was a fantastic game that I would've scored higher myself. As for sunshine, I think it deserved that rating as well, and 8.0 isn't a bad rating, it's an excellent rating. I think Melee was overated simply because of it is more of a multiplayer oriented title (which is great, it's just that the single player experience gets old). And Mario Kart... that deserved a 6.4, don't get my wrong I like it, but it's not the best.
