I dunno it's random... I loved VII, and VIII was ok... I really enjoyed IX but I thought X was terrible story wise. I'm still looking forward to XII and XIII however.
Yea that hurts... I'm dissapointed butthat's the way economy works... But hey I'm broke and as long as it's still coming out I don't mind. And around Christmas??? That means I won't have to BUY it at all if you get my drift.
I dunno how far it will go... I guess money is an issue, but so far it's still one of the most popular if not the most popular RPG ever and that will carry it on until a new generation of people come out that really don't enjoy RPG's because of some revolutionary gaming style. But until then I think that they should eventually remake the older ones with updated graphics and stories, to meet today's standards. Everyone was so hyped about a possible VII remake, I say if they're going to do that, do it later, go back earlier first and make the ones a lot of people missed. I'm excited for FF III.
They will deliver... It's been long enough and I trust them to know what they're doing because I've never really been let down. Still the best RPG's around, that's why i joined this union...

Jeez... I really didn't like X compared to the other ones... I thought the characters were boring and the story dragged on a bit... Although the actual gameplay was really cool (especially leveling) and I still enjoyed the game, I would just rank it really low compared to the others. (no offense to anyone, it's just my opinion). I did enjoy VII and IX the most, but that's because VII was the game that brought me into the series... I thought the story and characters were very compelling and kept me wanting to play more and more just to find out what would happen. IX was a bit more jumpy in story but I loved it also and I would consider it very close. The first six are also classics, but I do find it easier to get into the stories with the 3d aspect (not necessarily graphics but well scenery and cinematics are important sometimes).
Same thing I name every other animal... Either Fifi (the universal animal name), by it's category so a horse would be named Horse, or some name/word that I liked from a previous zelda game such as Kokari or Gorgon. And possibly Epona in one of my files (assuming I play the game more then once), out of respect of course.
Ok I do think 9 was highly underated. And I also agree that 7 and 8 are overated. And yes the first 6 games are amazing. But I'm not gonna lie I really enjoyed 7 and 8, although there is a lot that could've been done better. Such as in 7, every character is pretty much the same other then looks, story and limit. But the overall game was so great that i didn't care. In 8 I just found the magic system really stupid. Oh and the only thing I liked about 10 was the leveling system and tidus' sword. Everything else wasn't very appealing... I miss world maps. But I still find the games to be more satisfying then most of the other RPG's out there.
Thus I agree with your view that all the games are special and unique. As for your initial question I do believe that we are divided and that you are not being naive. People who really enjoy final fantasy should understand where these newer styled games have originated from and take the time to see what they are missing.
