lol!!! Horizon Zero Dawn is NOT linear... Bloodborne is NOT linear... Infamous Second Son is NOT linear. Etc,etc...

From a gameplay perspective they are versus the big three franchises on Xbox One. Halo, Gears of War, and Forza present you with a near infinite opportunity of ways to tackle your opponents.

Here on the Internet sure, but Out here in the Wild the Xbox is still a big brand.

Exactly, Xbox is huge to anyone outside of momma's basement.

Hi guys, i'm new here, but i've lurked for a while so i feel like i know you all well hahaha.

i've been wanting to discuss this for a while, but i think there is a reason that playstation is so consistently successful with each console where microsoft and nintendo struggle so much. i think the one thing that playstation has that xbox and nintendo doesn't have is variety. there is so much variety in playstation's lineup. it comes from the fact that so many third parties support them and not just the big aaa ones like xbox but also japanese ones. plus sony has a killer, big first party, its even bigger than nintendo's and though many say it's not as good as theirs, its got more variety and depth for sure and that matters.

in contrast nintendo has its first party games and japanese games, but it has no western support, and even a lot of japanese games skip nintendo. some of the best japanese games are metal gear solid and resident evil and dark souls and persona but none of these are on nintendo. its like if gta and red dead and elder scrolls skipped xbox it doesnt make any sense. xbox barely has first party games, it has three big games and thats it and it gets big third party games from the west and very few from japan.

sony is really the only one who actually gets support from everywhere in the world and thats why it does so well when xbox and nintendo doesnt. people around the world know playstation will get all kinds of games and at least some of them will be appealing to them which is not something that either xbox or nintendo can guarantee.

thats why i think playstation does well consistently. im not hating on xbox or nintendo, and i love halo and i bought switch just for zelda and i think all three have their place in the industry and i hope all three do well but i did want to share my thoughts on why sony does so well while xbox and nintendo doesnt.

Welcome to the forums first of all. Secondly you have much to learn. Sony gives the illusion of variety but all of their exclusives are extremely linear in contrast to the amazing Xbox One line up.

Sometimes artists can not find the beauty in their own masterpieces. Halo 5 is to Halo what FFXIII is to FF.

Dear Microsoft, thanks for including the best Final Fantasy game FFXIII with your 360 platform.

It did for FPS games what FFXIII did for Role playing games. So yes not only did it revolutionize the genre but it set a new bar for games to follow.

Don't you think that you guys are being a little hard on @DocSanchez ? He just got hit with a wall of text (although not the biggest wall of text I have seen I give it a 5/10).

Anyways Switch's graphics are fine for the type of system it is aiming to be.

Let's see. One of the best JRPG ever, Persona 5, versus a boring empty open world with horrible story that only avoids being the worst in its franchise because there are games like 13 and 14. Yeah really hard

Final Fantasy 13 is the pinnacle of the franchise. How can anyone not enjoy it >_>?

That being said between these two I would have to pick Persona 5 given it's universal acclaim although I have played neither!

Easily the Nintendo Switch. Everyone in this topic who had chosen it basically explained why so I would hate to repeat what has been said.

[QUOTE="p4s2p0"]Because they keep making under powered hardware. When I saw 3ds I knew nothing had changed.Shinobishyguy

the 3DS is plenty poweful enough for a handheld.

No it is not. I know you may claim the Vita is some high tech device but it really is not. The Vita upon release had comparable graphics to smart phones... It was not some high tech machine. The 3DS is just such **** in terms of hardware that it makes the Vita look amazing.
