I'm interested how many people bought a NEW Xbox 360 after the RROD debacle, thus giving the 360 an even greater number in sales over the PS3. Anybody have any numbers?

Well I personally (for the moment) see FFXIII at 7.0/10.0. The battles look really repetitive, I give you that. But it's a complete other story if you're actually playing it. Tell me, what do you know about the battle system in FFXIII?Everything I've heard about this game has been bad. Some guy played through half of it and said that you just watch a long movie, then there's a short gameplay sequence where you press the X button repeatedly, then another long movie. Now this guy. And the gameplay video I saw of it looked incredibly repetitive. Personally, I think it's a huge step forward when reviewers stop giving stuff 9/10 based on name recognition alone. I'm sure we won't see any of that here though.

and the reviewer is RIGHT to a DEGREE though, to a certain limit. he over exaggerated abit, but it really wasnt worth all the wait, this game doesnt really have much replay value, u can beat it in 8 to 10 hrs, and thats it. its not like other rpgs where u can spend 100 hrs in it and still enjoy it. man sometimes i wonder wat SE are doin. maybe they shouldnt have gone multiplat. who knows. but for those who were really excited id do myself a favor and rent it first. but if ur a BIG fan then u already know wat u going to do, which is buy it and enjoy it. by all means i dont mean to bash the game even thoguh it mite sound like it. again graphics are good, story was good ( my friends ***) so he basically told me wats going on, but overall if i was to rate it is a 7 outta 10. not cuz of graphics or story was bad, but well guess read the review from the link.JoKeR_421
I'm sorry, but I'm sure you can't "beat" the game in 8-10 hours, even if you skip the cut scenes and videos. I've been playing the Japanese version for about 8.5 hours now and I'm sure that skipping the cut-scenes would only shave off a maximum of maybe 40 minutes from my game time. Unless you can clearly tell me how to beat the game in that amount of time.
So as I read different topics on FFXIII there's one thing that's clear: There's a huge discrepancy between what the Fans/Gamers had envisioned FFXIII to be and what the Developers envisioned themselves. The devs are trying to advance the FF series into a new direction while a lot of fans and gamers want it to be a classic FF title a la VI, VII etc... and this just doesn't go well. I actually like FFXIII for what it is, just how I liked my first FF (VIII) for what it is. I've never compared an FF title to one of the other FF titles, because I feel that it's just not right. I started to play FFXIII without thinking about if it had an open world or if there are any towns to explore, people to talk with etc etc....Reviews like the one posted in this thread can not be taken seriously, because it's clearly subjective and the person just bashed on the game with such hate.
My two cents, again ^_^
I'm playing the Japanese version of FFXIII and I can't understand what the reviewer actually hates about it, I bet it's one of those FFVII fanatics (the really scary type, you know which people I mean) who hoped to get a pseudo FFVII-2. He's right about the liniarity, but after playing it for 10 hours straight I can't actually complain. Now for the Battle System: I must say, it's really fun. I remember playing earlier FF titles and completely hating to battle at certain times. Not so in FFXIII, I actually seek the battles because it's so much fun. And with the new Optima Change System (called Paradigm Shift in English version) there's quite a strategy involved and some battles require you to change the jobs of your players. Anyways, the reviewer is just an ass and it seems that he just ripped off every negative comment about FFXIII and put it in his review...about the story, well it's clearly a matter of opinion, it gets really cheesy at times, but it's quite refreshing imo XD
My two cents ^^
Yeah you did see four snakes, and that story takes place before Outer Heaven and 10 years after Snake Eater. So Big Boss cloned himself to form an army? Maybe, I dunno, we'll see when the game comes out :D
I wouldn't say I was disappointed, but I did expect more. In the end it was better than MS' or Nintendo's conferences.
you only have a 0.5 sec delay? i have a 15/1.5 MBit/s internet connection (pretty good actually no problems with online pc games and such) and can play fifa08, cod4, tekken 5:DR and motorstorm without any lag...but when i play SC4 online...dude...i have like a 1.5 second lag...sometimes even 2.0 seconds.
With such a delay, I'm fighting blind and only won 1 match in over 45 matches...so, i'd be happy to have a 0.5 sec lag instead of 1.5-2.0. But to have close to no lag would be best...
Taki is pretty cool...I only just recently started playing with her in SC4 (never played her in previous installements, only ever used talim).
taki, talim are my favs, then mitsurugi, yun-seong, xiang-hua, seong mi-na
favourite guest characters: the apprentice, darth vader (teh force for the win...but darth is too effing slow in online battle.)
Folklore is cool, love it.
Can't recommend other underrated titles though...except maybe Lair...only ever played a little bit of it...but it seemed pretty cool back then =/
