Whoever told you that is very mistaken. The Elites are limited right now, but MS has already confirmed that they are ramping up production on them & they will be readily available come this holiday season. So no worries, you'll be able to find one then. Good luck!

ColoradoKindBud

The bestbuy store in my town has them, only thing it says is sold out. So ya they do carry them but people bought them. Again stick to October thats when I'm getting mine, there should be plenty out by then.

I had a 360 Pro which had some bugs... no death just bugs so i sold it and got a PS3... and now im think about gettin another one. I work at Gamestop and i see alot more dead 360s then i though there were. My question is.. do 360 ELITEs have that problem? i haven't heard of anything ELITEs dieing. And some guy that came to my store, traded his PRO for an ELITE, saying that Microsoft put more time into ELITEs. Saying thats why there quieter and are not known for dieing? has anyone heard anybad news about the ELITEs other than alll the accessories dont come in black?DuhQbnSiLo

I only heard from one person on here about their elite, said something about having the red lights. But it was nothing and he went back to playing. However everyone has been telling me the same thing. It's the identical system with just a few minor tweaks.

I've even asked people if they think It will be ok to buy it in october. But still even if I buy it then I'm still gonna be scared of something happening. It's nice that microsoft is offering the 3 year thing, but still as an owner you don't want to see your expensive product fail. For the elite we are paying 480-485 possibly with tax, and I want my money's worth. So just like me come october it's a gamble. And I'll be doing alot of praying for my machine.

for now mine is sitting next to my wii in a glass enclosure with the doorpropped open, your finef5lesnar2000

Your using a glass enclosure to protect it from dust, now I don't have that. I used to cover my regular Xbox with a small towel. But people on here told me that was a mistake. What would you suggest I use to protect mine from dust if not that towel?

Ok these two pictures are where I am going to place my 360 Elite. It said to place it in a well ventilated area, well this is the best area. Hopefully it's ok to post pictures on here, but if it's not mods please forgive me as I didn't know. The other area is near a heat vent. Although now it's summer we use it for our central air conditioning. In the winter it will be used to pump heat, but I'll close it up. I know the elite is built with a better cooling system so thats great. But I still want to get opinions on my further setup.

Anyway here are the pics and if you guys could give me feedback that would be cool.

Get an HDTV (720p) at walmart

BEst Buy even admited due to the prices walmart out their HDTVs at, they suffered BIG TIME with their sales

The only time I liked Walmart was when I saw a 32" HDTV for 480$

Was like WHAO! And its still working awesome!

SDTV is crap and they are too big

Mauser_Loader

Dude one word and thats MONEY.

I either get a 360 or an HDTV I cannot have both. Perhaps maybe for Christmas but it ain't happening in october.

And thank you to the poster above you, that clears up my worrying about the connections. Same as the xbox ones so thats cool!!!

I realize that the Elite works superb for someone that has an HD tv in their home. However I do not own an HD tv it's just a regular televison set. It' a 19 inch SYLVANIA television and it's the same one I played my regular Xbox console on. Some of you guys are going to say "why don't you just get a regular 360". Well no I want the elite and thats that.

But my question is will the Elite still work pretty good on my regular tv?

I know the graphics won't be as good as what they could be on an HD tv. But I don't have the money for one, so I must make due with what I own.

Also for those of you that are playing it on a regular tv like me. Are the cords similar to what they were on the XBOX?

You know the yellow, white, and red setup or is it different?

[QUOTE="AL13NK1LL3R"]

hahahahaha dude what are u been smokin.. look at the games out there on 360, better then other consoles and so far its doin great!!! i think in 5 years or 6, they will make another one...

Rentago

yeah they "hell to no"-Cole train, will not give up. The thing is, they want to become the only source of entertainment. They are getting into hand held systems now. They always work on something till they perfect it, so you'll probably see the 360 get remodeled and improved over the years.

They already improved it a bit more with the release of the Elite. That system hasn't reported having any problems except for one poster claiming something happend to his. But it's working fine now.

Wireless controllers are heavier with the batteries, and it gets annoying to have to stop what you're doing to change batteries... especially when you're playing in multiplayer or something where you can't just pause it. I went out and bought a wired controller, it cost $60 canadian. Sounds like it'd be a good idea for you if you don't want to spend money on batteries.ag1002

I wish they lowered the price they charge on stuff for you guys up in Canada. But ya you hit it right on the money as to why I'm buying a wired one.

Also I'm going to respond to the other poster that said something about tripping on it.

My elite is going to be in a corner in my room on a metal file cabinet, believe me it's not gonna get tripped on or pulled.

Does anyone know if we're allowed to post pictures of our 360 setup on these boards?
