You were talking about a 5 year warranty, but in stores correct me if I'm wrong but they only offer a 2 year warranty right?

I mean you can't just go into Bestbuy and purchase something longer right?

Take for example the Xbox Elite same system but newer improvements. If there were any bugs I'm sure they have addresed them for that system.

eclipsed4utoo

actually, they didn't. They did the exact same thing that alot of other people have been doing to ghetto-rig their 360's to work. They didn't fix the root problem. They just tried to cover it up better

See I keep hearing about this fancy chip thats coming out with the new Elites in September. I'm hoping whatever that is will solve any problems.

I haven't heard anyone complain about their elite dying on them?

So I assume thats good so far.

What exactly is this chip that is coming out in september for the Xbox Elite?

As far as I know it's going to be inserted into the new systems. I would hope that they recall the current elites they have out, when the new ones with the chips come. I don't think Bestbuy would cheat us and leave out the chipless elites, with the ones that contain it.

No but I know that Squirrels fly :D

And that is factual information just in case you didn't know.

Well from what I have been hearing the problems people have had with their 360's have finally slowed down. Especially if your going out and buying the system now. It's nice to hear that Microsoft has finally cleared the bugs the machine has been having. :)

I plan on playing with this console on a regular tv it's not HD.

In that case there really isnt a point for you buying the ELITE. The only notable addition is the HDMI port which slightly gives you a better picture on an HDTV, but since you're on an SDTV then this wont apply to you. So really unless you're going to download every demo possible in the marketplace then you won't really need the ELITE, the premium will do you just fine since everything thats inside a premium console is also exactly placed inside the ELITE.

Hama I see what your saying but I just won't to stay away from all the problems people are having with their system. The Elite seems to be better, and nobody has complained about it, or take it back so far.

All I care is that the Elite will connect just fine to my SDTV, and from what you just told me it does.

The thing is though that buying an ELITE doesnt make you escape from all the faulty problems since essentially its the same piece of hardware inside so you're just as likely to have problems unfortunately. However if you buy a console now regardless of whether its a premium or elite you should have less problems seeing as the newer models seem to be less faulty nowadays.

If you can I would suggest you wait for the new chip this october which is built with all new 360s at that time.

So to answer your question there is unfortunately no difference in reliability between the premium and ELITE versions.

Ya right now I am broke as hell but my birthday is in october and I'll have alot of cash by then. In october I'll be going to Bestbuy to purchase the machine.

Hama what does this chip do exactly?

And secondly Bestbuy by law basically has to remove the current versions of the Elite, once the new consoles containing the new chip comes right?

They can't just sell both the chipless elites and the regular elites can they?

Lastly I hope they aren't gonna raise the price just cause of a chip.

Dude this machine isn't having the same problems as the regular 360 is it?

Secondly I mentioned before that I won't be playing it on any fancy tv. I'll be playing it on my old SYLVANIA 19 inch tv, the same one I played my regular xbox on. The connections on the old xbox cords were yellow, white and red.

Basically what I'm asking you is if I'm going to be ok playing it on that regular tv I mentined? I know your going to say "Well your not gonna get the best graphics"

I'm fine with that I only care that it plays and thats it.

I imagine this chip is sold seperatly right?

Guys I'm looking into probably purchasing this particular console by October. By for those of you that own this console or know stuff about it. I'm just wondering if you would be willing to help a guy out with some questions.

First of all what makes this console so much different from the regular Xbox 360?

I would hope that Microsoft finally addressed all those problems you guys were having about the 3 red lights of death, and overheating. Because I have not heard anyone complain about taking back their elite black console. So it kind of makes me feel safe about spending the extra 79 dollars.

I plan on playing with this console on a regular tv it's not HD.

So the bottom line guys whats so special about this machine, and is it that much better compared to the other one. I don't want to be returning my system after one month because it busted.
