I've got about 200 Blu-rays, so, yeah, I buy and watch a lot of Blu-rays.
This assumption people have that Blu-ray is so much more expensive than DVD is simply incorrect (speaking for the US, at least).
If you pay attention and know when and where to shop, you'll pay close to DVD prices for brand new Blu-rays, sometimes you'll pay the same, and, if you're a really savy shopper, you can even pay less than the cost of a DVD. I'm talking new releases, mind you.
If I ever pay more for Blu-ray, it's literally a couple of dollars, which, when considering how good the movies look and sound, as well as the durability of Blu-ray Discs, the couple extra bucks (if even) is more than worth it. Not to mention that Blu-rays usually come with a DVD or digital copy, adding to the value.
