Yeah, $150 seems like the standard fare if you system is older than 1 year or you dont have proof of purchase.

Woah! Putting in another hard drive doesn't void the warranty! It's encouraged. Anyway, I could put the 60 gb back in and they wouldn't know the difference!

Alright, I'll give Sony a ring! Thanks for the helpful advice. I have purchased a PS1, 2 PS2s, a PSP, and a PS3 from them along with over 100 games, so hopefully they will see me as a loyal customer and not some PS3 maltreater!

Fahrenheit! And it is a 60 gb first generation (backwards compatibility = good, yellow light = bad). It has that 230 gb hard drive though.

And if I send it to Sony, should I put the original 60 gig hard drive back in and keep the 230 gig drive that is currently in it so they won't wipe it?

Will they accept it? It is 2 years old.

And if anything, it was too cold, not too hot. I live in New England, and the PS3 is stationed in a room off the back of the main house. It was probably 40 degrees this morning out there, but its 2 years old so its used to that temp I would assume.

But seriously, I go to turn my PS3 on today, it starts to turn on, then the power indicator lights flash yellow then it beeps and turns red. No audio, video, nothing. The PS3 has not been moved and it was working perfectly the day before. It is almost 2 years old. Anyone with any information please send them my way!

I have 2 blu-ray movies in the mail and have yet to beat Dead Space, Fallout, or Rock Band 2. I can't wait until Summer to pay for a new one :(

Thanks for any help/encouragement!

I had this EXACT same problem happen TODAY! The cords are secured and it still doesn't work. The power-up doesn't stay on long enough to perform a hardware reset. Anyone with any info, please help!

I got up at the ash crack of dawn, waited in line for a good hour, and picked up my copy of Wii Fit. I brought it home, and my grossly overweight friend, we'll call him John, stepped on it and broke it in half. I understand this is a cheap plastic piece of poop, but I think that Nintendo should have thought of the disabled. Not to mention my Wii 'blue ringed' and froze three times. Nintendo shows no respect for their consumers or quality. Sony and Microsoft stop the shovelware. That's why they will win the console war.
