The MT's in odyssey are actually oddly pointless. Given that the whole game scales to player level, and every level increase is a sizable jump from the last, referring to metrics on weapons and armor, buying any weapon or armor is a temporary boost at most. Keeping it longer than a few levels hinders you more than anything.
