I enjoy VR with my Quest 3 so I'll be definitely interested in playing this in VR to see how it plays out. Would love there to be some sort of discount for owners of the non-VR version of the game though. I'm not going to pay another $70 for this.
Like many here, I will wait for at least a 50% off sale in addition to some great reviews. I'm retired and enjoy gaming, but my backlog is huge so I have plenty to play as I wait for a decent price, even if I have to wait a year or more. And with many games, waiting that long means bugs were fixed and DLC is out.
Honestly how much extra work does it take to keep what is there? I personally have not played Minecraft in VR for awhile now, but I remember it fondly. It was sorta crazy to actually be in the Minecraft world. I liked it better than what I saw in the movie trailer. I'll skip the movie and just be in the world myself.
Hoping the modders jump in and save us here. Give us Minecraft VR please.
@agent_stroud: I came to post the same. This game is 14 years old...? Sooo, are folks still confused? "I bought this game 14 years ago but dang, how do I make a house? I'd sure like to play this, but I'll wait. Sooner or later someone will post some hints to get me started..." Lol.
I play games for enjoyment. I like to play solo, and usually enjoy survival games (Ark, Subnautica, 7 Days to Die, etc...) The closest I come to expressing myself using creation abilities is building bases so that I can survive the elements of the game world and solve whatever mystery is set before me. But I'm not expressing myself to others as I play alone. The game is a challenge, it fits my real-world life as I can choose whatever odd hours I want to play. In the end it's just a hobby that gives me much joy.
Your list is missing Lone Echo 1 & 2, plus In Death: Unchained. Lone Echo has an amazing science fiction based story. Being in a space suit in the rings of Saturn, it doesn't get any better. Then In Death is the most addictive archery fantasy game ever. I still play it as my go-to game to relax. Challenge after challenge. So fun...
> I used to think I was unreasonably harsh on Disney's attempts at live-action Star Wars because I didn't like any of it. Then I watched Andor and saw what a legitimately good Star Wars TV show looked like.
You do realize that in reviewing these series it doesn't have to be on a pass/fail grading system? There are scores between 2 and 10, right?
I have not watched Rebels but I'm hoping that the writers within this series will fill in the missing pieces I need to appreciate it by the end. If not, then fine, one can downgrade the complete series, but we've only seen 2 of the expected 8. But till then, your review should be an episode by episode review with no score (or episode specific one) till the final end.
It's funny that on the gaming side of Gamespot they usually give a score after finishing the game, otherwise they write an Impression article and not a review. Maybe that rule should be followed on the Series side of things?
I hope this finds an audience (I'm sure it will) but it probably won't be for everyone, like me. I loved the first Ark but I like just surviving in a land with dinosaurs. I never even got the high tech gear but I do love the guns and lower tier items. Just building and exploring the various biomes is a blast for me.
So for the new fans of Ark 2, enjoy! But I hope they keep the original Ark going.
