How many updates has windows had??? Can you still get viruses and spyware on XP??? Do you even know how easy it is to create software exploits on linux? Lol wow you fail at attempting to know what you’re talking about!
I never said just 1 update. how many updates has windows had??? a lot. Sony should do the same too. However many it need to take to keep viruses and spyware off the network. and then the spyware and viruses will evolve...[QUOTE="haols"][QUOTE="KoreanX"][QUOTE="LucasDigital"]sigh... 1. If it's so easy to make software exploits on Linux, name the last time any signifcant Linux Server was hacked.
So you seriously believe that Linux would be free from viruses and hacking?
IT is insignificant if a single incident is stated or not, the point is that PS home will be used for such purposes, it only remains to see just how much people will try to ruin it.
Yes I realize that most of Apples and Linux security is due to its relatively low acceptance rate.
However, considering Linux is notorious for be the most stable and secure of every operating system, including apple. And also considering that a huge hacker competition that tried to take down a mac computer failed, I would say that Linux would probably hold up against most things thrown at it. I guess the worst that could happend is a DDOS against Sony servers.
Mac will get hacked, the only reason it hasen't been fully exploted yet is because no one wants to **** up a mac any more than it alredy is... /jokeing

how ever you are right about linux servers being MOSTLY hack free but it would also be very easy to upload virus's onto a home server useing a modded verson of linux
