As you can see from this test 6gb-8gb is the sweet spot for ram.As you can see the FPS has improved,to many people trying to talk about things they just dont know about.@The guy saying no games use more than 1.5 your the one talking crap..http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/buckybit/list-of-native-64-bit-pc-games/46-57269/ this is a list of native 64 bit games there are also MANY newer games that have large address aware meaning on a 64 system they can use 4gb just for the game i have skyrim with the HD textures and some mods and it uses around 3gb just for the game and my overall ram usage is upto 6+,Saints row 3,wow,sims 3 and others can all use more than 1.5gb IF you have more spare.
I NEVER said 4 gig wasnt enough to play but if you WANT the BEST performance IE FPS, load times,less lag,large levels without load jerking ETC 6gb to 8gb is better.

@addicted2050 You will hardly ever see windows using all your ram it always saves some,so the more ram you have the more it uses,example 4 gig it will save some around 1 gig so its using 3 all the time but saving some for other shit.If you have 6gig it uses say 5gig and saves 1gig etc,i have 8 gig and it shows 6-7 gig in use when gaming.Give this program a go it shows you how windows uses your ram.http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/amd-system-monitor/Pages/overview.aspx
@BloodMist You can run on 4gig but if you want to play all modern PC games at there best with the fastest load times and the best FPS you need a min 6gigs.Why do you think all power PC users have more ?? most have 16gig.He can already play the game im telling him what he needs minimum to play most games at good FPS,and im sorry to say you have no idea what your taliking about.
@ganesh69 Your Pc is low to middle spec,your cpu isnt too bad but you need much more ram, min 6gig for gaming and your GPU is not very good you need a minimum Hd5850 or GTX560 even Nvidia call your card Entry level. http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/geforce_family_uk.html
