Thbe thing is neither you nor I know the cost they pay for the components, I could see it being anywhere from 25%-75% of what we pay. So it is just speculation(possibly very off at that).

Here's what I think:

quad core CPU

modded GTX 470

500GB HDD

8GB DDR4/5 RAM

at around that price point.

A GTX 470 alone is good enough because it's at 6x better than the PS3 and 360 GPU's, plus they'd be modded and specifically made to work well with the CPU and such (good combination) so it'd work very efficiently. We don't need GTX 580's (although it would be nice). It's possible that we will get GTX 580's though, it just depends on the price of the GTX 580 in 2013-2014.

I am not saying his specs are accurate, but you do realise that MS/Sony/big compaines spends way less on each indivdual component then costumers buying retail right? I think it will be somewhere between where you two are stating. Unless MS/Sony go the wii route.

No, it really does. However from your couch/in motion you will never see it that way, haven't you noticed that w/ all direct feed pictures of console games? It always looks better in motion.
