I never let the hype get to me. Actaully I had no idead what gears of war was until a few months before it was released. Then I got it on launch and I liked it just thought it was a bit overrated. Then a played co-op and everything changed. It is easily in my top 10 favorite games of all time.
None I just played my ps2 and then 3 days after I got my xbox on launch on I got my gamecube on launch. But I have always preferred xbox because it is graphically superior to me and because of halo and xbl. However I do play mgs and final fantasy on the playstations and mario and stuff on the nintendos. I'm not a fanboy but I prefer XBOX/XBOX 360
OK dirt got an 8.3 and I tried out the demo and don't think it matches forza 2. Since you are looking for a gran turismo type of game I would recommend forza motorsport 2 because it takes gran turismo to the next level.

dont this tread question depend on what game you play more then what you got as hardware ? you can play solitare and lemmings, tetris and minesweeper til your computer die of old age and your mobo's battery is out sometime in the year2017. but if you planing to run newer games like Flight simulator Xand Dirt etc etc on Ultra settings, thats max on those games, your graphics are allredy down mark.
Exactly, but ya it will not last you five years and dx10 games are coming out next year and chances are you will want to play them. Just wait until the new nvidia and ati cards come out and then the 8800gtx and 8800gs will have a price drop.
IDk if this will help but here you go. With an 8800gtx, 4gb ram, and a quadcore cpu I ran Company of Heroes with absolutely all the settings on max at 1920x1200 and vista 32bitand averaged 125fps. At the same time I also ran Company of Heroes with an ati radeon x1800xt, 4gb ram, vista 32bit, amd 3700+ cpu at 1240x1024 and averaged around 45 fps with occasional frame rate drops during big battles not the severe though. SO idk you decide
