@wicked_laugh: Naww, what we want in a comic book movie is a story that makes sense, dark themes are fine but when that's all you as a studio do, go further down that hole then all you do is push your fans away.....and only apologists keep going back....

people keep bitching that MCU blows yet they make 10X the money DC is making now.....when you can't even top the worst of DCU you know you fracked up.....

with Spawn we don't need to compare it to MCU, we compare it to the 1997 movie.....also what Spawn is, is very heavy stuff, it's hell and heaven, gods and devils and demons and one man stuck in the middle questioning his existence and trying to claw his way out of hell.....

spawn isn't a murderer, he kills bad guys is all.....he's a trash man, he takes out the trash which happens to be pure evil....the 1997 movie did kinda go there but they couldn't just park the car there, they had to roll past into the parking lot for the parking lot of Disneyland yeah? so they had to candy coat some stuff and we got that PG-13 but this is going not just to the parking lot this is going straight into hell......looking the beast in the face and not flinching.....hopefully lolz

@RedWave247: and Watchmen wasn't really relevant when they made the movie and Avengers was kinda unknown in the mainstream when they made iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Cap and Avengers.....

a thing doesn't need to be relevant to be a good movie, Twilight Zone has been off the air for decades yet it didn't stop someone from creating one of the biggest smash hit shows of the decade, Black Mirror....and now they're talking about an actual Twilight Zone reboot??

star wars remained relevant after the end on episode 3 not necessarily cus of clone wars series but cus of memory but as relevant as it was the current movies have killed the IP.....[SW7, SW8 & Rogue One] I'm gonna laugh when Solo and SW9 flops....

also I'll point out Spawn is still in production, Sam & Twitch ended a few years ago but Spawn is still going....

i can respect where he's coming from.....if he's gonna fail let the blame be on himself....and he's right, if it's low budget and a major studio is just gonna hire some rookie director it might as well be a rookie director who also created the subject of the film lolz

oh, I'll play a real MMO no prob, I play Star Trek Online and Warframe but I want more story driven single player sci-fi games too.....

@gamingdevil800: it was better in the 90's when at least on TV they seemed to actually connect [but we knew they didn't] it's all how they sold it then, now it's all watered down anyways so it's like they don't try and hide it.....

also some of the back stories for the superstars were great stuff...

Kane the brother of Undertaker, burned and scarred and crazy and really just a demon and as they went head to head their matches were amazing, the whole D-Generation X stuff was funny, and the APA was great, Taker & Farooq among the best, anything Mankind/Mick Foley was gold....and the Hardey's vs Dudleys were fun times [that was more the start of the smackdown era but still, they were great]

I like what wrestling used to be but not so much what it is now...

they should just end it.....let it end and move on.....

maybe adapt another Image comics IP
