I expect an 8.0 here from GS too, possibly a 7.5 or 8.5 instead. The 8.0 is about what I expected it to get from IGN too.

But I'm not a fan of the way that review was written. It didn't really provide much info about the game that you couldn't tell from looking at screenshots, and it left out some pretty big stuff, including the fact that there actually are some new gameplay features in the game. Such as battle saves on some difficulties, which is a huge change for the series in the US.Overall, I've found most previews written about the game to be a bit more informative than the review.

And I still wonder why he thought Mii integration would be a good thing, or what this DS version of Fire Emblem is that he claims exists. Ah well.

Oh, and this is just a pet peeve of mine, but please people, not every game HAS to have online. If the game by your own admission lasts 50 hours and has replay value, that's enough lasting appeal to get a at least a 9.0 in that category, I think. Bah.

Sometimes it'll let me edit...but then it goes in and out showing both the original and the edited posts as two seperate posts. Then it'll disappear and reappear that way.

In addition...I've tried to quote one person but the end result was that another person was quoted instead. It made me quote myself once...which wasn't my intent.

Anyone still having trouble with editing/quoting?

Hmmm let's see. So is this fixed finally?

I tend to be hesitant about any licensed game, but it could be nice. Just because you don't like anime or this particular anime doesn't mean there aren't those who do, or those who would enjoy this game anyways. Of course, that depends on it being a quality game.

While you are free to prefer theGamespot forums to GameFAQS forums, General Games Discussion is for... discussing games, as you might have guessed from the title.

This gamewill beawesome, and it's definitely one I am looking foward to and will be getting. Actually, I don't own a Wii so I want be getting it yet, but someone I know has one and I'll be borrowing it to play this. So in that sense, I'm definitely hyping it.

But, judging from the way GS rates games and what the past games in this series got, I'm expecting it to get a 7.5 to 8.5.

The game is pretty similar to past games, but actually does have a lot of new features (as well as some that were in past FE games that never made it to the US) and a bunch of nice optimizations. It's also huge, and has some extra replay incentives. Awesome soundtrack as well.

On the negative side, it uses a version of the same engine that PoR did, and PoR wasn't exactly that good looking. While Radiant Dawn is actually a much better looking game than PoR, a fact that becomes apparent after you see it in motion and compare them side by side, it's still not that great looking of a Wii game. Not now that we have things like MP3 to compare it to. Also, it doesn't use motion controls. While I don't know how the heck a game like FE could properly include those for anything other than picking menu options, the fact that you apparently can't even do that could hurt it some.

[QUOTE="SmashBrosLegend"]It won't let me edit or delete my posts either.

And after I post in a thread, all of the posts except the original post disappear.
BranKetra

Same, except for the original post doesn't show either.

Yah, I've noticed those issues. Sometimes a thread or page of a thread disappears and shows up empty, and sometimes the original post is gone but the rest of the thread shows up fine. Both of these will usually correct themselves over time. Probably somewhat related to all the other issues going on now, such as PMs and quoting/editing.

And right on a weekend. Perfect time for all this to happen. :D

Obviously you know who I am responding to with this message since I can't quote.

The error happened in the General Games Discussion Forum, the Xbox 360 Forum, The RPG Temple Union and the Off Topic Forum so far, in multiple threads, so at least for me and another person in my union as well this isn't an isolated incident.

SemiMaster

I know the error is wide-spread, that's not what I meant by post specific. This is affecting every user, in threads and posts on every forum. But there are brief cases where quoting or editing does seem to work. Such as right now.

Previously, I had assumed that if a particular post could be quoted once, it could always be quoted, and also edited by anyone with permission. If it couldn't be quoted by one person, then no one could quote it and also it couldn't be edited. By post-specific, I meant some posts are bugged and never work, and a small amount aren't bugged and always work.

But earlier in this thread, that didn't seem to be the case. I couldn't quote a post, then could, then couldn't, then could.

I cannot quote posts whatsoever now no matter what, nor can I edit my own posts or posts in a union I'm an officer in.

Also, when I get quoting errors, it says "Cannot quote from another topic".

SemiMaster

Odd, I originally though that this was post-specific, but it seems more weird than that. Every time I have clicked the quote button for Drac's post in this thread, it brought me to the submit new post thing fine, but with this post of your's here and Thorpe's before you, sometimes it would work, sometimes it would give an error.

Of course, it's possible some changes are being made right now that could be effecting the issue.

I've temperarilly stickied this thread as there are too many new threads being made about this issue, and it would be helpful to have one place to discuss it.

Seems the bug is still here, unfortunately. One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't apply to every post. Some posts, seemingly random ones, can be quoted and edited, and they seem to be connected, as one might expect. For example, Drac's post in this thread, I could apparently both quote and edit properly.

I just wish I knew what was different between that post and all the posts that can't be properly edited/quoted.

Quite a few people are posting about the edit/quote issue, so in order to try and consolidate the discussion of it I stickied one of the threads. Please post comments on the issue here, so that we have a single convenient place with the info about this annoying bug.
