You buy a Nintendo system for the Nintendo games...Mario, Zelda, SSB, Metriod...those kind of games, you know what you are getting in to when you buy a Nintendo product, crappy 3rd party games...for the most part...and great, high quality first party games.jfkunrendered

"crappy 3rd party games" is a label that the Gamecube earned for Nintendo, but Nintendo isn't "known" for it's crappy 3rd party titles. Goldeneye 64, anyone? Square or  Enix games for the SNES? And Pokemon is 2nd party, isn't it?

However, the Wii needs to prove what I say to be correct. Right now, I'm more agreeing with you than disagreeing.

NiGHTS is like Shenmue. Lots loved it. Lots hated it. I hope that NiGHTS is good. SEGA doesn't need its name tarnished anymore, NiGHTS does not need to be ruined for fans, and the Wii does not need another crappy franchise game.

That said, the original NiGHTS was all about the unique controls, so it somewhat makes sense that it would be on the Wii.

I think people are just being "cautiously optimistic"Ollivander

Good call. Spider Man is one of the only long-running franchise games out there that has had a healthy dose of bombs and winners in the movie-based area and the comic-based area.

I'm cautiously optimistic, but Riddick for the XBOX blinded me as to how bad movie games tend to be, so I'm betting against the tendancy on this one.

Sadly, these questions really dont apply to me.Its not about what games to buy, or if I am dissapointed. I am just unhappy to see the way things are turning out.The Wii is treated like a handheld system.Games that are doing nicely,or have the hypeflow on the 360 or PS3 are getting sent to the Wii. The Wii however cannot stand on the same level, so it gets its own sidestory. Just like handhelds got, or get, however it rolls off your tongue. BlackFro55

All I can do is clench my teeth and say, "Wait." which is a poor argument, I know, but much of what you say is a prediction. There is no guarantee that things will continue this way. You could be absolutely right, or you could be wrong.

Hopefully, the trend changes, though, because it would be sad to see the Wii turned into a "sidestory".

I use the browser to Youtube videos when I'm too bored.

If the Final cut of Opera can support more video formats (like the ones FOX, ABC, and NBC for their shows posted online), I'll be set.

No need to get offended, but the truth still stands. I wish all the luck for Nintendo, I always have. They have been my favourite for a very long time. I just lost it a bit after the better half of the Gamecubes lifespan.I am not saying that the games that the Wii has to offer are not enloyable either.Even you can admit that they need to deliver some way or another,or we will have another fallout. BlackFro55

As for me, the Wii isn't my system of choice for "deep games" or whatever. Yes, the Wii needs to step it up, but so do all the systems. Each system has its flaws at this point. As long as Wii delivers interesting adventure games, fun party games, tight controls, and top-notch 1st party games, I feel that the purpose for which I bought my Wii (simple, fast entertainment) is fulfilled. If the Wii comes out with "deep" games (I agree with you; there really aren't many, if any "deep" games on the Wii), will I buy them? If they're good, of course!

I'm thinking about getting a PS2 for some of the adventure and RPGs, but PC is my "deep game" system right now, by far! I don't need two "deep" systems distracting me right now. One is enough!

What games have been announced that are really that hit making?BlackFro55

What exactly does this even mean?

Do you see any Wii games that are really astounding?Seriously anwer that question.I dont mean a game that will make money just because it has its Fanboys dancing in a line.I mean games that really have the quality that will make it shine, shine through gameplay, interesting themes and an interesting storyline. Not through the Hollywood Acclaimed publisher.

There are two responses:

Do you want the Wii but need better reasons to buy it? If so, then do your research. There might not be a game for you this instant (there was for me, so I bought it), but a game that appeals to you  - IF you like the idea of the system - is bound to come.

Are you disappointed with the Wii and simply want to point out its flaws? IF so, that's fine too, but don't rely on Nintendo fans to prove themselves to you if you've already made up your mind.

I'm using GTA as simply as a example. We could be talking about Soul Caliber for all I care, the Wii will always be the one getting the shaft. Some of you really misunderstand the point I am trying to make here. I had faith in this system, just as I did with the Gamecube. I couldnt give a damn about Graphics and Specs that the 360/Ps3 have to offer. The truth is that these systems will get the broader range of games because of the potential they have. The Wii has potential aswell, but will be overlooked becuase of its low qualities.BlackFro55

I'll disagree, but I see your point. Both the PS3 and the Wii have the potential to fall sway to that. Everyone bashes Nintendo because of the Gamecube, but they forget about NES, SNES, and the N64.

"But teh 64 and GC lost last gens!"

True. So why are you getting mad at Nintendo for going in a different direction with the Wii?

Spider Man games are tricky, since there are Movie-based Spider man games and comic-based SM games. There are good Spider Man games for both types, so it is anyone's guess whether or not this one will be good.

As for me, I'll take the Wii version, since that's the console I own. I'll probably rent it first to see if the controls are workable, though.

[QUOTE="Lucifer007"]

ok heres this. My idea is one that will increase pc and 360 greatly. when windows lives comes one itly be just like xbox live. So what I think microsoft should do is release a 360 emmulator on live. Ok hers how it woul dwork a person with a pc that is just as powerful as a 360 Im going to say 7950gtx or 8800's with 1.5 gigs of ram and a core 2 duo aleast. They sign into live adn the emulaotr only works when signed in(so no priartes) you out in a 360 game and there you can play it like a no 360 would.

Hows that leave post

FoamingPanda

Sorry.  I'd hate to see console consumerism pervert one of the only safehavens of gaming left in this sick and sad industry.  Microsoft seeks to nickle-and-dime customers at every turn, and I'd like their influence to remain as small as possible outside the 360.
