Toast is Otaku'd IV: Animes

I said that i quit watching animes because I get addicted really fast on those (it's a drug to me). But lately, thanks to youtube.com, but mostly thanks to Tommy (...) I've been watching a couple of them:

1- He is my Master: I discovered this anime by accident and found the plot rather amusing, so I watched an episode on youtube and it immediately became one of my fave so far. Packed with comedy and ecchi. Too bad there's not alot of episode at youtube so far.

2- Bleach: I watched the first episode just to see what this anime was all about, to see why ppl are talking about it ('specially Tommy). Turned out that i couldn't stop with only one episode; in fact, I've watched 70 episode in about 3 days and a half, giving me the name Bleach Junky.

3- Full Metal Alchemist:
We all heard about this amine. I got 2 of the DVDs a while back and stopped because I don't have that kind of money to burn. But on one magical day I told myself "wth, i can watch it for free at youtube"... and so I did.

4- Gunslinger Girl:
An action drama anime that takes place in Italy involving little girls brainwashed to become skilled assassins. My current favorite Anime.

May the Otaku be with you

Toast is Blog'd II: Tax Cut?

CANADIAN TAX CUT
So yeah, for the first time of my life, i witnessed a politician keeping his words. Conservative PM Harper will indeed cut a certain percentage of our taxes starting this July. That sounds cool right? It isn't. The reason why is because he only reduced the tax by 1%. That means that for every 100$ purchases, we will now save 1$... a whole dollar...

But to whom will that tax cut benifit, the average joe like me? NO, it will benefit the rich bastards. For those who spend... lets say... 1 000 000$ on a daily basis, they will save 10 000$... on a daily basis. But in my case -I spend about 20$ per week- I will save a grand total of... *drum roll*... TWENTY CENTS... yes two dimes, or four nickels, or even twenty whole pennies! I can even get a whole quarter if i give away a nickel!!! How helpful is that!

Of course, this action isn't done for normal people, but for the rich people: they spend more; therefore they'll save more. We, who spend less, will save less. This tax cut will actually widen the gap between the rich and the normal people.

There's a reason why politicians lick rich peoples' arses: to get votes. Rich folks usually run companies, and companies give politicians votes come election day (it worked like that in the 1800s. I don't know if it's still that way).

One lesson: Actions made by politicians are never for the people, but for themselves.

think about it...

Toast is Blog'd I: My return... sorta

NOTE: ok i know i said i quit a while back, but lately i was looking for a blog thing to record all my weekly ranting, so wth... GS has a blog thing so i'll just abuse it.

So all that commotion about Silent Hill: The Movie really made me feel "Silent Hilly" so i popped my copies of SH (psone), and SH2 (pstwo) and started playin'. I haven't 're-played' SH3 yet, because i'm currently 're-re-playing' SH2. I used to have SH4, but i hated it so i just sold it for some cash... oh well.

My fave SH game is the second one. Although the weird way the main character runs, I like it the most because of the amazing storyline and metaphors. At first, the game could be rather confusing; after the first time i played, i was all 'wtf just happened?' but if you analyse every characters, you'll figure out the whole story (Some characters are harder to get... hum... Maria). Pyramid Head OWNS!

There are also cool locations such as the trademark hospital, a prison, and a hotel. The creatures are not what makes the game creepy. What makes this game frightning is the environment: from the darkness/ fog that Silent Hill is engulfed in to the f'd up soundtrack, players would really want to get the hell out as soon as possible.

I haven't watched the movie yet, and i don't think i will; a family menber watched it and told me that it was rather mediocre.

I Quit.

Yeah, i lost interest here at GS mostly because of other things in life. I might be back but it won't be anytime soon.

To all my friends here (you know who you all are), thanks and best of luck on your future endeavours.

Toast.

I'm going to the U.K. lads and lasses!

woot woot, i just booked my plane tickets to London, England! I'll be leaving on March 22 to attend some personal affairs and will return on March 26.

This will be my third visit to England, my first was time was in 1998, i only stayed 3-4 hours at Heathrow Airport because it was only a stopover to get to Spain, my destination then.

The second time was in 2003 where I stayed for 9 days in Cambridge and London. Cambridge was nice, but I loved London! During my 3-days there, i visited the Tower of London, the National Gallery, the Imperial War Museum (my fave), and several sites such as London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and more. I also went into a HUGE shopping spree at Harrods (almost bought a 600 pounds(1200$cdn) F1 jacket)...

This time though , because of my short stay, I'm only going to Cambridge... which is too bad because I really wanted to return to London (especially for the Imperial War Museum) but meh... Cambridge is always better than my bedroom or the snowy streets of Montreal.

Oi!

The Spam Poem

My appetite is now gone
But for Spam I'd still be fond
Unless if it is in GameSpot
If then, I think my blood will clot

R.I.P. to a neighbor's daughter.

I just learned that my neighbor's life was cut short when she was involved in a fatal car accident. Although we weren't very close to each other, we were neighbors for more than 10 years, and such news just can't leave you unaffected.

I would like to extend my condolescences to her parents and her family. Surely, she would be missed tremendously.

Good day relived

I spent the whole day playing SmackDown vs Raw 2006 today.. .the last time i've played games all day was when i was in high school. sure feels good to relive the good olde days
