I don't believe it's Miyamoto's grand Mario masterpiece. I think they threw that element in to get people excited and pumped for the unveiling. To be honest, I was expecting some sort of Virtual Reality, free-roam, Mario title. Still, there's always the next console. But this is just awesome, and has made me excited for a new Nintendo game for the first time in a while. Can't wait to be travelling the Mushroom Kingdom once again! :D

In the land of Metroid, anything (within reason) is possible. It's a stab in the dark, that seems more plausible then a clone of Samus, or Samus from another time period. I didn't think that she (the scientist) looked as old or older then Samus. Maybe it's just that Samus looks younger then she actuallyis.

It's better then the other idea that I had, that she might be Samus' evil twin sister from a parralell universe!
