hi

I looked at facts from the DS-History, maybe to foresee the future of the Nintendo Wii. A lot of people say that the DS started slow too, but got the systemsellers later on, and so i tried to figure that out.

this is based on IGN's Reviews:

-) the DS has only 11 Games with Scores bigger or equal to 9.0 up to now

-) none of them is from the year 2007

-) 3 of them are Puzzle/Music-Games -> Minigames

this is based on Gamerankings Averages (almost from all Online-Mags):

-) only 3 (!) games up to now have a score above 9.0

-) all of them came in the 4th quartile of 2005 (Mario Kart DS, Castlevania, Advance Wars)

-) NONE (!) of the average Uservotes is above 9.0 (highest: 8.9... Mario Kart)

-) 11 out of the Top-15 are from Nintendo

so in spite of the good sells-numbers... where are the Topgames? The DS was released in November 2004 in America, and so far... see yourself... very disappointing

I hope the future of the Wii is very very different. What do you say? Sure you like your DS-games, but look at the facts.

IMHO Twilight Princess isn't that good, if you played the N64-Zelda-Games you wouldn't say TP is better than those.

Ocarina of Time is still the best game on Gamecube

A Link to the Past is probably the best SNES-Game for a lot of people

get the point?

but i'm with you, when you say that the developers should make better games than Zelda:TP

only problem so far: 3rd parties got the developer-kits very very veeeery late, Nintendo had THE head-start

Either way, I was responding to the claim that "graphics are ruining the RTS genre." In or out of context, that's just a silly statement, whatever way you look at it.

TryDaBeardON

maybe he meant that the overview would get lost, because of too much effects on screen... and this is bad in a RTS ;)

is it just me who thinks that the VC is very annoying... i mean the prices are way tooo high, and if i want to read something about new releases on the wii, all i can see is VC-releases...

i like the old games, but i've played the best of them and would not buy them again for so much cash...

and i believe that the prices for wii (at least for the games, that's for sure) will drop...

I'm wondering though...For mario tennis would you use the control stick on the nunchuck to move and swing with the remote? That could be awkward...

apboyer

why? i think that would work... you cant't do the moving with the Wii-Mote, you could use the nunchuck-tilt-sensors too, but why not the analoguestick?

I wonder how they would make the motion controls for soccer and if they make basketball...

tim_aka_link

you will have to tie the wii-mote to one of your feet   just kidding...

Mario Golf on Wii would be a must-buy for me, it was tons of fun on the N64 (never played it on GC)

i would like to know, if Nintendo would implement to allow the mii's in the next Mario-Sports-Games, that would be a nice ad.

I'm in a similar situation, i wait until more good games are out there

I'm waiting for:

Super Paper Mario

Metroid Prime Corruptions

Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles

Fire Emblem

and i'm hoping for

decent FPS on the Wii (perhaps a Red Steel successor)

MARIO KART

an exclusive Zelda (TP wasn't, came on GC too)

so for me there is no way i would buy a wii today
