I also own all 4, and I think the original RES is one of the most boring, uninspired shooters I've ever played. Killzone 2 is fun, until the impressive graphics wore thin, now I have no intentive to play at all. It's a massive waste of great tech imo.

Gears of War is fun, but has serriouss problems (1 and 2) network wise.

Halo is my fave. Solid netcode, decently balanced, fun. Sure, it's not the best looking, but im still play it to this day.

Forgive me, but why are you comparing a film and a game? Two more recent examples of the Halo syndrome can perhaps be found in WoW and COD4.

Price of entry for Star Wars upon cinema release = £7

Price of entry to Halo 3 upon its release = £200 - £300? (Console and game) Then add LIVE costs.

Rough numbers, sure. But you wonder why Halo will never reach Star Wars?

If anything, the Spice Girls proved that just because something's popular, doesn't mean it's good.

I wouldn't say Sony started casual, they were never really casual. They just converted/ brought over those otherwise casual to a more hardcore part of the market, hence the PS2 selling quite a lot.

[QUOTE="Dr-Doctor"]Everyone who has common sense would know that Halo 3 have presented almost nothing innovative.BubbyJello

Devs work like crazy - I hate it when people belittle their achievements.

You make it sound like they aren't getting paid.

Yet other posters make it sound as though they just threw it together, almost as though they could do it better themselves.

I love how most of the people who posted haven't read the article...II-FBIsniper-II

Exactly, some act as though forge and theatre play where just a days work. And underestimated the probable complexity in actually creating such systems.

"Ultimately it is the integration and coherence of Halo 3's online content that makes the game stand apart. From its Theater mode to Forge, and the way a party playing through Live can seamlessly manoeuvre between them, here is an experience that demonstrates an unparalleled understanding of the potential for console online play. Outside of the game, Bungie.net has been engineered to become a remarkable resource for Halo 3 stats and communities, providing life for the game even when your Xbox 360 is switched off. Halo 3, just as Halo 2 did before it, presents a roadmap for the way online will be integrated in videogames in the coming years."
