considering you'll be editing videos you may want a bigger hard drive. otherwise, everything seems great (keep in mind that im not a computer expert :P).like $400, i will use it for editing videos and/or gaming

[QUOTE="Mart_n"]Awesome, I was thinking about getting a different model with a nVidia Graphics Card inside. However, that option would be over 150 more expensive - and I don't think that the games I own will need such a powerful GPU to play.slayerpker
I bought a cheap Walmart compaq laptop and it had the intel GM4 series, and it ran most everything fine until it died... Lesson: don't buy laptop from wallyworld :P
Haha yeah I learned that lesson a loooooong time ago. When you are playing those games, what graphics settings are you running them on? And @ imprezawrx I wish I could get a laptop with a 8600GT in it, but it doesn't fit my budget![QUOTE="Mart_n"][QUOTE="nichder"]
I have an Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset family. I do know that Civ IV works good. So does the demo for Sins of a Solar Empire, demo for World In Conflict, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and World of Goo too. :P

Civ IV I'm running on high on all settings. Fable I'm running low as the frame rate seems to take a bit of a hit with them really high. Don't know about Sins though.
Just to clarify, you are playing all those games using a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD? If so, then the laptop I'm looking at is perfect for my gaming needs! When you are playing those games, what graphics settings are you running them on? Sorry, I'm not looking into building my own laptop. Also, for anyone who knows, what are some other stores in Canada that sell computers (other than the mainstream stores)?try this, its a barebones laptop kit from OCZ it already has an 8700 built in and you can choose the rest!

It's a nice laptop, but are you sure that processor will be able to handle what I want out of it? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but that processor isn't even dual-core :S.This laptop is ideally what you're looking for, but I would strip it of Vista and install XP, and use a custom video driver from laptopvideo2go.com, to get the most performance out of it.
