LocoRoco 2, Pixel Junk Monsters, Tekken Dark Resurrection. Basically any game that doesn't require any reading.

It's a Square Enix game. It's based on that world. That's why it has that logo.

Monster Hunter is a widely popular game that uses infrastructure to play online. Another good game is Phantasy Star Portable 2. I think the sports games can also support online play but I don't have any of those so I am not sure. If you're not into RPGs you can also try Modnation Racers. That's a fun cart game as well.

Well like Richard said there's a huge expanding library of games in the PS Store for dirt cheap. The majority of them cost about $6 bucks. I imagine the next generation of PSP would still utilize the UMD or more like the PSP Go (technically the Go IS the next gen PSP platform), but as most people would tell you it doesn't measure up to the 3000. It's a step backward imo. It'll probably take a while but after Sony gets the rights to put up all the PS One games they'll go right on to digitizing the PS2 catalog, a few games could already be up on their store. As for the iPhone players saying it'll overtake the PSP as a gaming platform I seriously doubt that. I'm sure the iPhone is great at many things but it'll take a very long time for it to dethrone Sony let alone Nintedo as the king of handheld platforms.

Amazon also has pretty good deals on memory. Might get something cheaper there than Walmart.

It's my favorite game of all time too with Suikoden 2 at a close second. I've still got both games CDs but I'm glad others will get the chance to experience the epicness that is Xenogears. Now if only Square would make a decent sequel. Xenosaga was alright but that just didn't cut it for me.

Sony also recently added a Japanese imports section to their PS Store so I imagine games would be region free or they wouldn't bring that market to their American website.

First of all, the PSP doesn't just support any format mp4. It has to be one of the "valid" resolutions or it won't be playable. Secondly the firmware that the movie is encoded at determines which folder it goes into. I use PSP Video 9 (freeware) which supports the highest firmware (profile = 3.3+). These movies can go into the /VIDEO folder on the memory stick. If you use other encoders that don't support the latest firmware the movies will go into one of 2 other weirdly named folders. The encoder should have an option to move the file for you so I won't go into their names.

It appears that ipod movies can play on PSPs and vice versa. I always download the ipod version of On The Spot and play it on my PSP. I'd guess that ipod converters will work too, but I don't know since I don't have one.

I've used a freeware program called MediaCoder. There's direct encoding to the PSP format size for MP4. I've only used it a few times but it's not difficult to navigate and also transfers the files directly to your PSP after recoding.

Yeah, like many folks have already said you need a stick to save games and such. I recommend getting a 4GB stick minimum. If you plan to buy games online through the PS Store you might consider a larger one. I download game demos and depending on how many you actually get a 4GB is sufficient.
