[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"] No he doesn't move at the same speed. When you roll in the ball for example, you don't stay fast like you do in the Genesis titles. As for the level layout, come on, do I really have to defend this? :? You honestly think that any handheld game has come close to the pure joy of playing the ice level in Sonic 3, chemical plant in Sonic 2 and so on? If so, then I can't believe you were around when these Genesis games were new.Renegade_Fury

In Sonic on the Genesis... you do slow down in the ball... I still don't see what you're talking about...? I can compare the Ice Cap Zone in Sonic 3 with The Ice Cap Zone in Sonic Advance 2 easily... And you haven't told me at all why you think such a way besides experiance. Granted, the levels don't give you the nastalgia, and aren't as visually impressive, but it's still not a reason to hate the entire game. That's like saying New Super Mario Bros. is a 3/10 because it doesn't feel the same, or look the same as Super Mario Bros. On a separate note, you can't really compare graphics of a Console, to a Handheld... Lol I dunno how you guessed I was around when Sonic 3 was new, but yes, I was around. (Though barely. I was born a bit before Sonic 2 was new on the Genesis. 2/22/93)

If you're going fast and switch into the ball you don't lose speed, a good example is the water level in sonic 3 stage 2. In the new games, there is absolutely no benefit to switching to the ball. You're comparing Sonic Advance 2 to Sonic 3?! Wow, just wow... I've played that game so many times, and not once have I ever thought that. The level design is absolutely putrid in that game. Every now and then you will fall off cliffs for no apparent reason, and there is no sense of enemy placement. Also the branching paths are so boring, and don't offer any sense of originality (top vs. bottom). What I'm complaining about has nothing to do with nostalgia. It's all based on my experience playing Sonic titles. There hasn't been a good game since Sonic and Knuckles, and that my friend is fact. The new games are so bland, the controls are awful, and the games just aren't nearly as fun.

Since the 2D sonic titles are only on the handhelds, and since the DS is more powerful than the Genesis, yes you can compare. If you want to know how I guessed your age, it's simply due to your feelings on these new sonic games. Anyone who has been playing Sonic (and was aware of it) since it came out in 1991, can easily tell the new games just aren't nearly as good, (assuming they're not a fanboy). I've seen enough little kids try to sell me the pluses of the new sonic games, when they obviously had not spent enough time playing the old ones if at all. Oh, and the other reason I could tell your age is because your avatar is of the new lean Sonic. The old chubby one was far more badass.

All you've stated is your own opinion, has it not occured to you other people CAN dissagree? I mean, if you want to look at what you call "Facts" then the "Fact" that (As i've stated before) the most favorited Sonic game is, indeed, NOT a 2-D Sonic game *GASP*! Can you guess what it is? It's for the Gamecube. Sonic Adventure 2 BATTLE. I've spent ample time playing classics, Not only do I own them, I also own the collections as well. As to the ball, I STILL don't see what you're talking about, they both are the SAME. And for Sonic Rush, you might want to turn into a ball before ramming head first into a bunch of enemies (You lose all your Rings if you don't) Level disign is also opinion. I found the visuals for Sonic Advance 2 to be amazing, and to be honest, I think Sonic Rush looks better than the Genesis. I'm also going to go out on a limb here and say because I wasn't born 2 years earlier, that I haven't played the old Sonic enough to give a solid opinion. That, is not the case. And the Old sonic had one spine... I like the newer one better =P Don't get me wrong, I love the classic Sonic games, I really do, I just think that it's unfair to hate the newer Sonic games because they chose to change it up a bit. Continuously throwing you in some random Zone and just fighting a Fat Guy for jewels to eventually go super WILL get annoying after the 5th game. They gave you your 2-D nastalgia in Sonic Unleashed, and allowed you to do your classic games, AND give you something the new Sonic lovers would enjoy. So why all this hate? In the end dude, it comes down to opinion, and preferences. Don't hate on someone just because they don't agree with you. Keep an open mind. "If you want to know how I guessed your age, it's simply due to your feelings on these new sonic games. " Don't go saying that again, it makes you look very immature, and makes you look like a major Fanboy. My feelings toward Sonic are the same as any open minded gamer. I like his old and new games. Yes, I even liked Sonic '06. It all comes down to opinion. And what's wrong with the new Sonic design? He's just ran more and burned off that Chillie Dog fat =P (Also doesn't have that Flat spine going straight down his head like the First Sonic game.)

[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"] I didn't like the gameplay of physics. When I play the Genesis titles Sonic moves at the perfect speed, and has perfect controls. Also the level layout is far superior in the old games. None of the handheld games are even close to matching the Genesis games in these departments. It's not like Sonic 3, I don't know how anyone can think that.Renegade_Fury
He moves at the same speed as Genesis, except he can go faster with boosts in Sonic Rush. As for level layout, that's all to opinion I suppose

[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"] and that sucked too. It doesn't "feel" right IMO.Renegade_Fury
Explain. It's exactly like Sonic 3. Only it had a story with dialogue.

[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="MaverickHERO"]Exactly. in all truth i don't like nintendo that much. I prefer sony and Microsoft. Megaman X and Megaman are different. All game lines are different. they just have megaman in it and use a buster. most of there games are in sync. but this is about sonic.MaverickHERO
Sonic isn't Nintendo, he's Sega. Sonic isn't linear either. Only certain Segments are. (Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 BATTLE, Sonic Heroes, And Shadow the Hedgehog's stories are linear.)

I never said he was nintendo. I just dont like nintendo period. Nintendo made the consul's that sonic's on except genises. chill with that dude. Sega is it's label, but the dont make consul's except the genises and Dreamcast. Dreamcast failed hard.

Sonic's not just on Nintendo's Consoles. He's on Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, and PSP as well. Sega is the Company, while Sonic Team are the people who work with Sonic Games within the company. And yes, Sega (The Company) made Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, and I think 2 other consoles which failed. And acrap load of add ons.

[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="whitetiger3521"]Well if they went back to the old school sidescrolling ONLY style with some 3D characters and stuff then it has a pretty high chance of success. Renegade_Fury

Sega is just desperate to make games for sonic because he's there main mascot. It's like a comic book, it's so random with different plot lines that have nothing to do with each other. MaverickHERO

This is a bad Arguement. Look at Mario, Zelda, Megaman, Final Fantasy, etc.

[QUOTE="Mattperd"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Nintendo lost my respect with the 08' E3 presentation. Soooooooooo much fail. Vandalvideo
They announced all of the big titles last E3, and a bunch of the big titles they could have mentioned were released a month or two before the E3. They had nothing really to announce yet. Cut the some slack.

Big titles? I'm not sure you can call a vague referene to Pikmin a huge letterhead.

Examples from last E3: Super Smash Brothers Brawl, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. And an example of what could've been on but released earlier is Mario Kart Wii.
