@bobafetthatesu: I'm wondering if their next console launch will happen around the same time as the NX. One way Microsoft could disrupt the console market is to off-set the times when consoles are released.
Am I reading this correctly? SXSW received threats of violence from gamers' for organizing a panel about how to deal with threats, and violence? Sorry gamers, it sounds to me that we need this if this is the reaction we are giving when someone decides to address it. The response seems to be the equivalent of a petulant child not getting their way.
And to SXSW, way to show us how to deal with "threats in gaming". Don't face it, cancel whatever you were going to do and pretend it never happened.
I wish they'd post the review of the single player and multiplayer separately. Waiting for the servers to be up and running before they post about it doesn't mean that they can't tell us about the campaign. Tie the 2 together after the servers are official.
@clavainrs: Exactly this. In-game chat will be missed for strategy, but that is about it. Even then, people like me usually turn it off because I'm sick of hearing 13 year old kids telling me how they "did" my mother. It's really confusing because they sound like girls; I'm open minded, so I reply, "I didn't know you came out of the closet, congratulations!" All seriousness, get a voice chat program or join a party, it's too easy to do to be complaining this much.
I thought this sucked the first time I read it, then I realized that it's allowing voice chat, it just won't provide the chat interface. Fine by me, on consoles I create a party so I can avoid hearing 10 year old kids, and on my PC I am always on a private chat server with my friends anyway. It will get in the way of strategy, but maybe in the near future they'll release a faction assignment api and someone can host a server that will automatically move you from one room to the other depending on what faction the API reports you as. That last part is for PC of course, unless Microsoft and Sony start allowing 3rd party chat apps, or host their own 40+ user chat servers.
@ECH71 I'm not sure it's actually at a loss, I think the hardware is actually lower than the sale price at this point. Granted, not by much, but I'm thinking they are making a few $ on it.
While the Beta wasn't horrible, it pretty much showed what the final was going to be like. Beta's aren't final, but they are pretty close (most beta's barely change when they release). This game was a definite pass for me after spending just a few minutes with the beta.
@k41m @Spyre1984 No one needs approval to enjoy a game, they just need the game to be good...Sometimes the reviews are right, sometimes they aren't. It's why I believe that demo's are better than reviews.
